Now I have this mute icon next to my name and the "new comments" option doesn't appear anymoar can somebody tell me whats going on?

It means you've been muted on the mainsite. You can't make comments.

If your comments are phrased in a similar manner to your message to the staff, that's probably why you got muted.
Whether it's a joke or reference, they can easily be misunderstood.

I'll let you know privately what the mute was for. Also, there was absolutely no need for that outburst, even if it was a reference of a good episode of Spongebob - so don't do that again.
