I decided that I did enough awesome things in 2016 to warrant a sequel to this topic.

Real Life Stuff I Did
  • Applied to four different grad school programs and got accepted to all of them
  • Made a final decision about where to go for grad school
  • Finished my first semester of grad school, where I continued to defend my 4.0 GPA to the death
  • To my surprise, I only had to survive one team project, where I collaborated with two Saudi Arabian noblewomen
  • Started an assistantship position that pays for most of my grad school tuition and gives me experience doing cool things
  • Finally figured out what I want to do when I grow up, if all goes well
  • Earned a new technical certification
  • Learned a meager amount of French
  • Taught programming and digital literacy skills to at-risk teenagers at a summer camp, where I designed and taught one of the lessons and assisted with other lessons
  • Went with a collegiate secret society to an IT convention in Atlanta
  • Successfully prevented a former Pac-12 quarterback from catching a pass during a game of amateur (American) football
  • I don't think I met any new fashion models, but I did meet two (literal) beauty queens, and I spent over 170 hours in the company of models and beauty contest winners
  • Met plenty of other interesting people who are not models and beauty queens - especially interesting people from interesting countries like Uzbekistan

MFGG/Online Stuff I Did

Stuff I Didn't Do

I can't say everything was perfect, but as far as grad school is concerned, everything ended in the best possible outcome. All in all, I did a lot of interesting things this year.

What cool things did y'all do in 2016?

  • Quit a web development job at an unsuccessful startup
  • Got a web development job with a small but successful local business
  • Became aquainted with and a regular user of Mac computers
  • Made a high score system for MFGG
  • Made a game, though it was a tiny one for Secret Santa lol
  • Finally started watching more adult swim

I don't think I can make some sort of list like you guys did, but I'll just randomly mention the things in one paragraph.

I was hospitalized for 1 month. Absolute hell. Later I had my surgery. Been handicapped for the entire year. Got two girlfriends that were pretty meaningful to me but the last and current one is definitely the best one ever seen in the universe. I'm grateful about that.

Nothing important, other than starting to go to university.

Iroha: No, you don't have to make a list the way I did.

HD: Hit me up on Skype or Discord and I'll give you the full scoop on my gridiron glory. (One caveat: If you paid close attention to my post, you may realize that this former quarterback was playing wide receiver instead of quarterback. He may have been slightly out of position, but he was still an NCAA-quality player.)

Well, here's a list of some of the stuff I've done in this year:

  • Got a Big Help badge (I've been aiming for that badge for quite a while).
  • Got a bingo in MFGG's E3 Bingo event.
  • Made a digital drawing for Friendly Dictator on MFGG's Secret Santa event.
  • Finished one game with Game Maker.
  • Started and did a bit of progress for a game.
  • Got my edit count on the MFGG Wiki to hit 3,000, something I've been trying to achieve for quite a while.
  • Wrote a couple reviews on the main site.
  • Submitted a few sprite sheets to the main site.
  • Submitted a couple how-tos to the main site.
  • Composed one music track with Famitracker.

Probably should've mentioned these, too.

  • CM30 interviewed me. That was fun.
  • I started a Tumblr page for surrealist photos of weird things on my laptop. Nobody cared.
  • I threw my first curling stone when I attended the U.S. Curling Championships. It's definitely harder than it looks!
  • I made a Web site for my local homeowners' association, and I helped other people (including models, of course) with their sites.

  • came back to MFGG (technically this happened in December 2015 but sure let's say it happened in 2016 for convenience
  • recorded a sick new album that finally released in June and it was sick and new
  • had a heat stroke incident, so that was fun
  • worked more on various collaborations that might progress into some awesome stuff!
  • plagued with a thyroid problem for the last 6 months hooraaaaay

and now here. 2016 wasn't a great year, but the worst of it was the latter half, so I can say the beginning half was pretty decent

here's to hoping 2017 will be significantly better

  • Got a job at a game testing studio. Well known one at that. Was lots of fun.
  • Upgraded my PC to finally have a decent graphics card, more hard drive space and a 2nd monitor.
  • New dog! He's nice but goes berserk whenever he sees a black dog for some reason. Our neighbor has a black dog...
  • E3 Bingo, a close one.
  • Scored an internship for this year, which will lead to my college degree very soon.
  • Helped a bunch of people feel better about themselves.
  • 100%'d Saints Row 3, Bioshock 1, Sonic Adventure, Turok and that not-so-recent Binding of Isaac Rebirth expansion.

Gonna try making videos for this year, hopefully I get enough motivation for that.
