MW made some iffy moderation decisions that let a handful of awful members gain an inordinate amount of influence. And in the absence of a clear focus/mission (like making Mario fangames), it's difficult to attract new contributors - and without new members, you're inevitably going to get an aging memberbase that has less free time and motivation to spend online.

Same, here. Plus MW is generally random nonsense (not sure it's immature) posts. People over there are more focused on gaming and chat.

I remember going on some fan forum way back in 2007, and it was all serious business, no fun whatsoever allowed, people got banned for everything, people automatically became mods when they reached a certain number of posts and had gone ban-free for like three months. With all the negativity (fitting since it's called [i]Minus[/i] World) and pretentious sarcasm thrown around there, MW just gives off an unpleasant vibe to me.

As much as I appreciate the enthusiasm, please keep the MW-bashing to a minimum. We don't want them to talk bad about this forum either.

I really don't get why you guys are so eager to bash another community. Unless you are registered and involved with said community, your opinions on it are invalid anyways. You're like a bunch of teenagers picking on some kid just because he's living in a neighborhood full of elderly people.

Yeah, I'm trying here guys. It's not nearly as bad as you people make it out to be. Most of those severe trouble-makers have either been gotten rid of or calmed down almost completely and only appear occasionally now to make decent posts (Robbydude). Posts in the PPP and especially the VGV are pretty sensible nowadays. Arguments happen still but they're virtually unavoidable when you have general discussion. People here argue too and I'm sure that we'll be seeing an increased amount now that there's a place to spawn it. The amount of disputes brought on by arguing is way down though. People don't hold grudges and mudsling nearly as much as they used to. Discrimination is still there but it's way way down too. Is this just because we have less users now? Maybe but I like to think that we've gotten better as a whole. I'm not trying to kick you out but if you don't want to do it nobody is forcing you to keep the job.

To be honest this forum has its negatives too, maybe you all should take a step back and recognize them.
