This has been in the works for almost two months now, but the MyBB forums now have an official launch date! We'll be launching the new forums on Monday, November 27, 2017. Expect a few hours of forum downtime during the morning hours of November 27 (morning for Eastern time in the United States, at least). The mainsite will be unaffected during that time, and if you get a hankering for MFGG fun while we're down, you could always check out our Discord chat group. We're planning to archive the phpBB forums rather than converting the existing posts and accounts to MyBB (for more information, seethis topic). No information will be lost - you'll still be able to access all of your posts and PMs. The archive will still be hosted on the MFGG server, and we'll make sure that we save some offsite backups, too. Your phpBB badges will be carried over to the new forum if you include your phpBB account ID number in your profile. If you'd like to see what the MyBB forums will look like, you can check them out here. You can even register an account, but keep in mind that there's still some construction dust, so you might have to wear a hard hat. (While falling debris isn't a major risk, there could still be some pesky bugs or visual oddities lurking.) Many details of the current boards are subject to change, so if you have any suggestions or concerns, now would be a great time to share them! |

I wanted to peek into the github forum thing to give feedback and such, but I had no clue what to do, I got pretty lost. But I hope the new boards look spiffy! I just hope that in making the site and boards in the same sphere, that the boards can at least LOOK like their own as well. I think TSR does it well. Oh there's a public test area. Here I come to test and be weird. If I register and make weird posts and be goofy, is that going to transfer to the new boards? Or is this more like a throw things at the wall and see what sticks thing and the new boards will be new? |

Parakarry: We're planning to unite the forums and mainsite at some point in the future. The MyBB forums are a bridge to this happening. lumaSMS will look much more similar to the MyBB boards, and if the MyBB forums end up running for only a short time, we could always transfer those posts to lumaSMS. We'll probably keep or at least archive the test posts, although most of them aren't exactly super-important. Greeno: I'm glad you like it! |

Thanks for the heads-up; I'm looking forward to creating my account there. My only question is the PM stuff here; I know we can see about possibly archiving them, but if this current forum is going to be read-only, what's going to happen with the PMs themselves? (I am aware that the PMs here can't be transferred to over there.) |

Not sure why but I keep getting this pop up from AVG when I visit the new forum. Been there plenty before the last few days and it never happened

That's good to hear. Also I have noticed the same things on my computer from Malwarebyte. Did some search and I found out that "pomf.cat" is a file sharing site. So I tried to check the domain's DNS record and found out that "a.pomf.cat" is on the same IP address: Code: nova@GUOVA:/mnt/c/Users/Arthur$ dig +short A a.pomf.cat 66.55.90.17 nova@GUOVA:/mnt/c/Users/Arthur$ dig +short A pomf.cat 66.55.90.17 I highly suggest stay away from any external sources for any resources. Any resources should stay in the same server, plus it can improve page loading speed. |

I've no idea what could be hosted externally except possibly an addon getting files from... somewhere. Someone might need to do some digging about that. |
