For those of you who frantically check the Board Settings option in your profile over and over again, you may have already discovered it minutes in advance, but finally - after [i]months[/i] of intense, hard work (in fixing a minor bug the rest of it was pretty much done), I am proud to finally unveil the newest MFGG theme: [b]Evening Chill![/b] Winter's almost here, and it sure is a drag that there isn't an appropriate theme to use during the winter time here on MFGG anymore, but I decided it was high time to finally change all that. Inspired by an older theme of the past with the Yoshi's Island motif and snowy interlacing (Winter Blue, for those of you who forgot), I finally decided to try my hand at making an entirely custom from-scratch theme. Those of you around for a few years now probably remember an earlier attempt at theme making from 2013 of mine, but that was a port of an older theme, so this is my first original new and true theme. Actually, aside from the latest version of Blue Challenger, I believe this is the first time MFGG got a nice, new theme in a long time! So revel in it, truly you are a part of history! People will remember this day as the day MFGG got a new theme! ...okay, so maybe they'll actually remember it as the day after the Cubs finally won a World Series in 108 years, but THE POINT STANDS. So go ahead, check it out! It's yours to use and abuse, so long as "abuse" means "use it for as long as you like", because otherwise that would be mean don't abuse it =(

Thanks for increasing the Yoshiness of the MFGG forums! Winter Blue was one of my favorite IPB skins, and it's nice to see a new skin take some inspiration from that IPB classic.

New themes in general are always fun to see pop up. It's a pretty good theme from what I've seen. Excellent job!

I took a look at this skin, and I thought it looked pretty nice! The colors look pretty good, I like the Yoshi stuff you included in the skin, and it seems to capture the winter spirit very well. There seems to be a strange bug inside the skin, though, one that isn't a visual one, and I don't think it was your fault in the case of the bug's cause. When I clicked on a emotion, instead of putting it to the post, I just get taken to the top of the site, and no emotion is put in the message (I instead have to type it in when I'm using the Evening Chill skin). Despite that, however, I think you've done a good job, Vimimin! :thumbsup: I think I'll be actually using this, during winter, that is, instead of the Blue Challenger skin that I've been using for nearly all of this year (and some of last year). :D I kind of feel like I should make a skin for this now.

Very nice! Glad to see this one is finally online. I can verify the emoji bug, though. Seems weird for that to be related to a theme. Sounds like Hylian has some more stuff to do ;) EDIT: The go-to page icon seems to be missing, too. I'll probably use this one over the winter. Your themes are the best, Vitiman. Apparently no-one likes Tropical Splash, but it's still my favorite, and this one also looks fantastic. I could never really get into any of the other themes. Also wasn't this one once called Evening Star? I might be mistaken.

I'd enjoy using a new skin but it seems to lag my computer for what ever reason. Not a big deal, but I thought I might bring it up. (I think I'm still going to use it for the time being)

It feels like those themes from early or mid 2000s. I dunno maybe because of the colors that are used. Also, how do you make themes?

Ah yes, I should definitely mention that Hylian was the one to fix the bug that plagued the theme for months on end. I could never figure out how to do it myself, even though I tried constantly to do so - CSS and HTML and stuff are very confusing if you ask me! So yes, special thanks to HylianDev for graciously fixing that bug in the theme to get it ready for primetime. Without him, this would have probably been ready in another year's time =P (as for the weird glitches with the emoji bug, I'm getting them too, although tbh I have no idea what's causing that so I'm not sure I can find a solution. Perhaps Hylian DOES have some more work to do, hah!)

I fixed the bug :biggrin: The Evening Chill theme didn't copy over some .js files, so I just linked to /experimental/ whenever it wants to include a .js file

That's really cool! It's been a very long time since we got a new theme. I guess it's finally time to change from the old Luigi theme I've been using for ages to something new :) BTW if you've got some time, I would like to know how you made a theme. I was given the resources to make one years ago literally, but I wasn't able to finish it because I couldn't figure out how to test out the theme I made.

I set up a phpBB test board and from there I had to change everything pretty much manually. I had to ask an admin for a copy of Blue Challenger to use as a base, of course!

Okay, a lot of those images should be loading up properly, I know I made them and they should be in the imageset folder so... like, yeah, this is really confusing, actually. phpBB is weird and I hate it =(

I don't like it but it serves its purpose. How would one go about designing a forum skin for this place?
