Over the last few years, several hundred accounts have been registered that have not made even a single post. Whether they be spambots, dupe/flood accounts, or people who visited once and forgot about MFGG, all they do is make the user list a bit bigger than it needs to be, and they also aren't worth keeping around. So, in the next few weeks, I will be removing all inactive users from the user list. If you would still like to have your account preserved, however, please be sure to make a post to let us know you're still interested in being a part of MFGG. I went ahead and mass messaged those that have not posted yet, but if you know a friend here who has not done so yet, be sure to give 'em a heads up as well! After the accounts are deleted, they won't be able to be restored. However, you can always reregister using the email used for your old account. [b]Remember: if you have made even one post, your account will remain unaffected.[/b] Also, like last time, we will not be pruning the mainsite or the wiki; only the forums will have its user list affected. We now return to your regularly scheduled program.

Don't do this. I have invited a few friends that haven't made any posts, and they are gonna lose their accounts if you do this. Unless you avoid deleting their accounts.

they're doing it anyway; just tell them to make a post

After first I thought that you were just cutting people that have not been active in a while because I was afraid that could happen to me later on after the summer is over, but it is just people who have not posted one post at all alright. I just all who have not made a post that want to still be apart of this community make a post quickly.

Tell them about this, or they can just recreate their accounts with the same E-Mail.

Hexyuu: If you don't have any posts, there's an extremely simple way to prevent your account from being pruned - make one post, anywhere on the forums. Even if your zero-post account gets pruned, it's easy to create a new account if you decide you want to be an active part of the MFGG community. Also, if you never post, the only benefit you get from having a forum account is the ability to download file attachments, and that feature is rarely used nowadays.

I'm not sure if I can get them to post something in time. Can't you just avoid deleting their accounts? It's not hard...

Forums can be used for many things. I'll give you another example. My forum features an arcade section, and some guy joined but didn't make any posts. But still, he contributed to the arcade. That's a contribution without making posts. Another example: In my forum I have a PM conversation with my co-admin stargatedalek. My forum is somewhat dead so even if she doesn't post anything, I don't care. I know I willl try to revive my forum someday, but still. She uses her account apparently only for PMing me.

Making a post is pretty simple. If someone can't figure out how to make a post on a forum, I don't know why you'd expect someone to be able to use the PM system. (If someone is having trouble posting on a certain device, though, please let us know.) Forum PM can be a useful way to communicate, but if you're really close to someone, it shouldn't be the only way you can communicate.

Hey, just curious. Do you have to post in a topic or post a new topic up to keep your account from being deleted? Also, what is an IM?

As long as you have made even just one post, I don't think your account will get deleted, mariogeek2. Also, a IM means an instant message, which is a message that is sent through the internet.
