One of our affiliates, Metroid HQ, have sent us an invitation to their annual Metroid marathon, together with the launch of their new site. Charity is also going to be a part of it!
Some of you, who are not necessarily familiar with Metroid HQ, may know Metroid HQ's founder Elias from NCFC.
So if you are a Metroid fan, consider to become one, or just want to be part of some fun and charity, have a look at what he has to say:
Friends & Affiliates of Metroid HQ,
It's probably been a long time since you've heard anything from us. Our
site has been more or less offline for the better part of the year. But
worry not, as we have some exciting things in store.
[Today],
Wednesday, July 16th, beginning at 2:00pm CDT, and going until
Tuesday, July 22nd, we will be putting on our fourth annual MHQthon on our
website,
metroidhq.com.
MHQthon is a Metroid marathon in which we play
every single Metroid game. It's an effort to provide entertainment for the
Metroid and general video game communities, and (more importantly) to raise
money for the
Child's Play Charity, who uses the money to help give
children in hospitals and therapy facilities the opportunity to play some
of their favorite age-appropiate video games while undergoing hardships.
Additionally, we'll be soft-launching our
new website at some point during
the marathon, with a more fully featured version accessible directly
following its conclusion.
This year ([today], actually) will mark our
10 Year Anniversary as a site,
and so we're going to be doing everything we can to make this marathon and
our celebration as fun and entertaining as possible. We have some giveaways
planned, and even have
a special guest joining us this year.
