It'd be very easy to cheat on math though.

Agreed. With the internet, you can find out the solution to pretty much any math problem.

Not if it's physics.

here's a good/bad idea for a special comp (or gaming comp)
a cards against humanity comp, but we find/make a program that allows for custom cards, so we can make an MFGG card pack to go with it

I know this may seem like a dumb idea, but how about a competition where you're given a prompt phrase or word and you make anything that you can think of in relation to that word? It may be cool for variance but at the same time it could be unfair on the voting system as each person would have a preference in whatever medium somebody presents. Anyway, just thought I should share that; but a photo competition does sound cool imo.

If someone were to do that, would it be a valid idea for a special competition? Something that's play-with-other-people-at-same-time would not make sense (networked games that aren't something like cards or puzzles are usually inherently unfair, so screw that), but something built with a score or time attack in mind and anti-cheated could work.

^ and he does know a few things about anti-cheat systems;
He implemented a rather effective one into "The Purple Coin".

Just as a thought, we could hold a trivia quiz.
It would be hard to cheat on that in any ways that people on the internet don't already have access too anyway,
Even at that, a simple fix is to make the problems obscure.

Earlier I had the idea of possibly doing a different type of music competition where members could record their self actually playing an instrument. This would only work if enough MFGGers knew how to play an instrument, but I figured that the idea is worth throwing out there.

I can play mayonnaise. Seriously though, I don't really think this would attract anywhere near enough participants, as music comps themselves are already struggling. It would be worth a shot to combine the two, though...

There's nothing in music competition rules that say it can't be someone playing an instrument anyway. I think when Yoshiman was still around he used to play some of the instruments himself for music comps.

Sorry if this reply is late, but I have a few things to say.

1. Cooking Competitions: I know that most people aren't willing to send food overseas or pay for shipping costs to someone regionally, but an alternative would be for each member to design a recipe, including step-by-step instructions on what to do. They could post the recipe in the topic and have the person who may be judging replicate the food MFGGers make.

2. Gaming Competitions: You cant satisfy all MFGGers with the games and fangames suggested and means of playing that are suggested. You are just splitting hairs when you want to suggest a game that would favor all due to human preference, really.

3. Photography Competitons: Nothing much to comment about, since the type itself is a good one to have.

4. 3D Modeling Competitons: It should be judged on how graphically appealing and how functional the models are.

I do believe that special competitions can still be decided as a community, instead of the Competition Leader account when taking it into consideration. My suggestion is that due to the morphic nature of the special competition, it should not be subject to the new category rules as much as the more permanent competition types that binds the previous types of competitions when it comes to the competition rules posted two months ago. I apologize if its a tall order here.

That's actually a really good idea.

I agree, that sounds like a very good improvement to the existing Cooking comp!
