The current iteration of the MFGG forums has been up and running for about three years now. During that time, we've accumulated several hundred accounts that never made a single post. Many of them are spambots, dupe/flood accounts, or people who visited once and forgot about this place. In other words, all they do is clutter up the user list, and there's little point in keeping them around. For that reason, I'll be removing all inactive users from the user list within the next week or so. If you still haven't made a post, be sure to do so, so we know you're still interested in being part of MFGG. I sent a mass message to some of the inactive users who've been active in the past, but if you have any MFGG buddies who are inactive, you're welcome to give them a heads up on my behalf.

All account deletions are permanent, but if your account is deleted, you'll be able to re-register using the same e-mail address. This account pruning only affects inactive users. If you've made even one post, your account will be unaffected. As you can probably guess, this pruning only affects the current forums; any accounts on the mainsite, Wiki, or an older version of the forums will be unaffected.

This concludes The Week in Boring System Maintenance Announcements.

If you go through the Members list, you'll see that a ton of them have no posts. There's probably at least 3 or 4 on each page (not counting the first page, which only has 1 zero post member), but I'm not sure since I didn't feel like going through all 45 pages.

I understand why this is happening and support such measures. At the risk of being impertinent, here is my request to prevent the pruning of my account. I am still interested in game-making and look forward to reacquainting myself with the boards a bit more concretely.

Whoa, 17 and a half pages of inactive accounts. Didn't quite expect that. Sounds like a good idea in that case.

Wow, THAT many members that are under the "inactive" category? That really hurts.

That's even worse that those of us who are still going through creator's block; thankfully we still remember to post on occasion to still show interest that we're still in this thing.

Oh man all this nostalgia rushing through my veins. It hurts.

Pretty sure this is for the best if it's only accounts with no posts.

Actually, just realized I have two accounts here, remove that one and keep this one.

Over one month of notice seems sufficient, so I pulled the trigger on the account purge. I chose the deactivation option rather than deleting the accounts outright, just in case anyone comes back within the next few days and wants their old account back.

(Although after reviewing the 316 accounts affected by this pruning, a decent chunk of them were spambots anyway.)

Wow! Long time no see.

Actually, I made it a point to keep your account, since you were one of the most notable inactive members. Thanks for letting us know, though.

Only users with 0 posts could get pruned anyway. No need to worry.
