The update has been performed, on first look everything looks stable to me. Please post in this topic or contact me via IM or email, if something does not work the same way as before.
A forum software update is scheduled for this weekend (26.10. and 27.10.2013), therefore at a certain time on those dates, the forum will be down. It should not really affect many of you, as it will be performed in a time of low activity, but for those who happen to be around, you are now informed. Expect a down time of about an hour total, give or take depending on how smoothly it goes.
This will update our forum software to the most recent stable version of phpBB (3.0.12), and other than increased stability and bug fixes, not much will change. All our modifications will remain and all data is safe (and additionally backed up before the update). This means, if you are offline during the update, you might not even notice at all.
I have already performed the update in question twice on testing setups, where it worked flawlessly. However, I want you, the members, to report any unusual behavior after the update.
This update might not sound like much, but it is the first step in a multiple step plan to make MFGG's software system ready for the future. More details about this plan will be officially announced at a later date, when things are more set in stone and presentable. (Look at it like a game announcement by Nintendo, who also only announce the real stuff shortly before it happens, while still teasing that this or that may or may not be in the works. And so you know: Something may or may not be in the works, so please be or be not excited
