Ok, uh, in light of the things impeding my current progress on the NCFC Directs, a new rule for trailers that wish to be specified for NCFC Directs in place -

Please REMOVE ANYTHING THAT CAN BE CONTENT-CLAIMED in YouTube's system. This includes the audio that has been in a few trailers. Yes, I understand if this is disappointing because some popular music choices absolutely will be claimed, such as Super Mario World music or various stock trailer ambient pieces, but the fact is, if that music is in, for me to work with it for the NCFC Direct with the tools I have, it WILL be edited out. And I'm sure you'd prefer having control over this editing process than for me to have to replace your music myself.

Please send me a message if you think this has affected your trailer, since I don't want to make this into a public defaming post.

My trailer has SMW music but I honestly don't see the big deal. I can re-render it if you want.

It's because YouTube has this thing where if the music in a video is stuff you don't own, and there's a lot of it, your video could get copyright strikes and be removed from YouTube. Since this NCFC Direct thing is going to have a lot of music, some of it will be copyrighted, therefore, YouTube will receive a lot of complaints from the owners.

I know that it's a bit late, but would my fangame Magikoopa Security Force be a bad fit for NCFC? It has around two-and-a-half hours of gameplay, but it has no save system (though one can use a cheat of sorts to skip levels) and it's rather unpolished. I also haven't gotten any work done on it since the summer ended...

^This is up to you to decide. The game will leave an impression on the people playing it. If it's unpolished you risk negative first impressions, but you have 2 weeks to iron the biggest problems out, or build a smaller demo where the absence of a save system doesn't weigh in, or just create a booth with a trailer or some screenshots.

It's definitely a good idea to present something, as long as you feel comfortable with the quality of whatever that is.

I get that this is probably the dumbest question ever because it's Nintendo Community Fangame Convention, but I figured I'd ask anyway:

Indie games wouldn't be allowed, would they?

I mean, I'm not going to have anything this year, but I just figured I'd ask for future reference.

Haha, sorry, just that seeing the title of the game change between trailers gave me the perfect chance to have Iwata sound puzzled. It's great how "I do not know" blends so well. XD;

That's alright. I will admit it does sound quite funny, though. :laugh:
However, I'm working on a new trailer. Should I send it to you or just leave the direct be?

To be honest, I have not made any noteworthy product this year. Plus I am more focused on my real life. I will not post any booths this year unless I'm not busy and more requests on my games.

Yea, I'm going to go for another demo of Super Mario Bros Doomsday. Don't want to have people hanging for too long.
It's gotten some pretty good progress over the past year.

However, if I don't get a demo out in time, I'll just release the full version to NCFC next year.

Alright, maybe if I have the time (unfortunately I've been swamped in personal business...) I will make one more NCFC Direct, but I can't make any more promises for anything new before the whole show starts, so I think it'd be a good idea now to talk about schedules for the Livestream.

We have a few opportunities for themed Fight Nights this year. So those will hopefully return. :)

As I mentioned in the Livestream thread at NCFC, I also have some planned programs that I want to play during hours where there is an audience but no available streamers. I am going to upload Turnabout Storm among these shortly, and the uncut Pokemon TAS episodes are already there. Any other suggestions will be appreciated.
