Another year has passed on MFGG. We've seen many new faces join the fangaming scene, and we've witnessed some old friends return. MFGG remains a site with lots of talented and creative people, and some of our most polished games have been released in the past year. And to commemorate the people and productions that make MFGG a special place, we hold an MFGG Awards presentation every year.
The veterans among you know how this works, but for everyone else, here's a short introduction: MFGG Awards consists of two important phases - the Nomination Phase and the Voting Phase. For each category, you nominate a name (in the individual categories) or a game title (in the games categories). Then the five people/games with the most nominations per category get set up for the final voting. After this, we tally the winners and will announce them in another topic. The winners receive an MFGG Awards 2012 badge. Who knows - somebody might even nominate you!
Here's how the nomination phase works: 1. Copy this list of categories: Spoiler:

2. Enter ONE name per category Please enter the name instead of the description, and leave the categories in this order. This makes it easier for us to count the nominations. Remember that you're not allowed to nominate yourself.
Nominations end on Saturday, January 26 at midnight, so we can tally up the results over the weekend and give the results and instructions for the Voting Phase.
You have to vote in at least HALF of the categories. However, please try to nominate for as many categories as possible and don't just stop halfway through. We reserve the right to omit a category this year if only a few people vote in it. If you need ideas for the game categories, take a look at games that won Game of the Month awards or Minigame Competitions in 2012, and submissions that earned positive reviews on the mainsite. For the other categories, I recommend exploring the MFGG forums to find examples of quality work that you might've missed.
If you're unsure abut anything, don't be afraid to ask!

Hm. I'll have to think about my nominations. I guess we have to vote for games released this year, right? As in, can I nominate psycho waluigi for anything even though it was released late-ish 2011?

It has to have been released in 2012 or the beginning of 2013 (aka this month) to qualify. That is, I'm pretty sure; it would be really stupid otherwise.

Advertising in your signature... not a bad idea!

When we vote for BEST ENGINE and BEST ENGINE MAKER, does the engine have to be released/open for other makers to use? - Or is it enough if we find a game with a great engine?
Hmm, I know several games with BEST ENGINE :D
