Also, do CopperMario's graphics count as sprites or drawings?

they're sprites, just not pixel art, since sprites are any movable graphic useful for a game.

Hmm, I know several games with BEST ENGINE :D

When we vote for BEST ENGINE and BEST ENGINE MAKER, does the engine have to be released/open for other makers to use?

For best engine, it's just a game with a great engine - doesn't have to be open source.
For best engine maker, I'm assuming it's the same thing, given that there is no 'best programmer' category.

For a game to be eligible for this year's MFGG Awards, it should've been released or worked on during the calendar year of 2012. For example, Psycho Waluigi's final release was in October 2011, so it's ineligible for the 2012 awards.

I think the Best Newcomer award should go to someone who's new to MFGG rather than an older member who returned. However, there have been some odd winners in the past - Mrs. A. won this award in 2008 when she had to make a new forum account after the old one was deleted.

I'm not going to advertise myself since I feel it's unneccisary. I'd rather be nominated(if I do) without hinting at anything.

i've never seen any one advertise for people to vote for them in the awards

at least seriously, any ways

don't know about any of you, but i would purposely not vote for any one advertising it, as it seems very obnoxious - and if you don't mind me, i'm just to go vote over here for what i think deserves it in my mind, not what's been tried to persuade me by an advertisement

I think this is probably the best way to do it.

Anyway, I sent in my nominations!

I've really been out of it in the past year... I'ma have to dig through MFGG's updates to know what to even begin to nominate.

Is the awards only for forum posted material?

That means Bowser's Last Stand is technically eligible, since the last time I worked on it was in September 2012. :P

I don't think it'll be nominated, though. It's OK, but not great. The Purple Coin is much cooler and the flaw it has (only working on Windows, requiring nonfree software) is shared with BLS and just about every other game here.

I personally wouldn't do that myself...
it just seems kinda.... I dunno. Doing it as a joke could probably be rather entertaining.

Regardless good luck to everyone.

next year, my goal is to focus on the "best bosses." Kinda why I'm practicing now. But of course, I'll be set back a little if I make the switch from Game Maker to MMF2
