Don't worry too much about experience. Experience with NCFC is not necessary; I entered an alpha of Bowser's Last Stand into it last year after learning about it a week (or maybe just a couple days, I'm not sure) before it started from an MFGG news post. On the other hand, if it's game development you're inexperienced with, the worst case scenario is you find out that there are a lot more flaws with your game than you knew about, and that'll give you a chance to fix those flaws (this happened with Bowser's Last Stand last year, too).
The only reason to not enter is if your game is not ready, or you yourself think it's crap, or if you otherwise don't want people to see it.
