Yes, the time has come, folks! The final voting phase of MFGG Awards has commenced. The nominations phase earned a reasonably high turnout, so we're highly appreciative of everyone who took the time to vote. And now, without further ado, here are the final nominees for each category, as compiled by Guinea:

Spoiler:

All nominated entries with links, thanks to Miles:

All nominated games and engines:
Spoiler:

How to vote
1) Copy and paste this list into a PM to the MFGG Awards account.

2) Only leave the name/game you're voting for in each category. To avoid moral conflicts, you're not allowed to vote for yourself. (Sorry TD!)

3) Send.

You do not have to vote for each category, but please try to vote for as many as you can. Try to play games you don't know yet before voting.

Please submit your PMs by Sunday, Jan. 29, 2011, Midnight (EST). It's not a strict deadline, so it ends when I start tallying up the votes, which is usually past midnight (aka the next day), so don't hesitate to submit late votes.

The Awards ceremony shall begin on Monday, Jan. 30, 2011, evening, when a good number of members are online and browsing the boards. Please post here if you prefer the "all at once" or "one by one" approach to revealing the winners.

With that said, get up from your couches, sit down in front of your monitors and vote!

If you have any questions, suggestions, or problems, please bring them on before it's too late.

Erm, I have to say something: I see my 707411Y 1337 game, Bowser's Last Stand, has been nominated for "best demo", but I recall reading that it's supposed to be a category for not-yet released games. Thing is, BLS, or I should say the completed version, was released nearly 2 months ago (on December 2, 2011).

Maybe I just misunderstood. Just making sure, though.

Oh, Mario 3D could be sindii's or moonrat's. Who's 3D Mario Engine then?

The link in the first post is to a compose page that says you're sending the PM to "None". You may want to add a 3 to the end of that link.
Edit: It seems that has been taken care of. Cool.

I think the one-by-one approach is the more exciting one.

Technically my laptop is set up on the table in front of the couch I'm sitting on. Do I have to stand up and then sit back down before I can vote?

Well the demo was also released in 2011 if i'm not mistaken, so I guess it counts.

I would want them shown one by one, but by using spoiler tags (and maybe group all of the awards for members of MFGG in one post, while the others are shown one at a time)

And I've sent in my votes. Had a tough time deciding the Best Game Overall (which I would personally call the MFGG Game of the Year 2011) and had to end up not voting for the best non-Mario game, (as I've never tried any of them) but otherwise it was somewhat easy.

Edit: Also, I'm not surprised that I've not been nominated for anything this year. Mainly as I've only joined near the end of the year.

Yeah. I wonder which version, though? There were a total of 5 different demos posted on MFGG (0.3-0.7), and there are some huge differences between them, so I wonder which version's being talked about. I guess I'd expect most people to remember 0.3.0, since that was what was on NCFC 2011, so maybe that's a safe assumption.

Meh, doesn't matter anyway. I don't expect BLS to win. I'm sure Midas Machine will win "best demo", probably by a landslide. If BLS is lucky enough to win any of the other categories ("most original"? Huh, I guess I have a different interpretation of "original", or more people have played to the end than I thought), it doesn't matter then, since it's not getting any less 1337 as version numbers increase.

Actually, I'm pretty confident I know approximately what will win in almost every category. I've uploaded a text file with my predictions to Box so I can point back to it and claim "I'm psychic!" later. (My prediction is basically that Psycho Waluigi and Midas Machine will win all categories except for "best minigame", "most overlooked", "most replay value", "best story", and "best secrets". Consistency between my predictions and last year's winners makes me pretty confident in many of them.)

Hasn't posted any sprites.

Since February.

Might have something to do with it.

That's the thing: it's not just the start of the year that gets you in - the rest of the year counts towards who's in too!

Awesome. Sending my vote in very soon! Can't even vote for some of these since the nominees are all pretty much equally of deserving the category.

Hope we all have a whole 'nother great year for the next MFGG awards. :)
