It's been another year.
And this year has been great. We have recovered from the split. We have seen many great fangames submitted to the mainsite. We finally got Thunder Dragon's masterpiece Psycho Waluigi, which is to date the best rated game on MFGG, with 9.9 out of 10. Our minigame competitions have reached new activity peaks now that we restrict them to one day or week and they have produced great games too.
Not to mention, we have had our TEN YEAR anniversary!
Nintendo has delivered their share to keep our community alive: The Nintendo 3DS has been released, we got Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7, and Nintendo's other franchises have proven once again that they're still not outdated, especially the Legend of Zelda.
Unfortunately we have also lost great administrators. Both Yoshiman and Black Squirrel quit their positions and from here on it looks like it's up to me, the new moderators and the rest of the team to keep the ship sailing smoothly.
All of this wouldn't be possible without you guys though. It is you who make the fangames, it is you who play them and it's you who comment on them and help the board and mainsite grow as a whole. We have not only good programmers, we have amazing spriters too, and great musicians aren't hard to find on MFGG either like 5 years ago.
After this, what does 2012 have in store for us? The MFGG Awards for 2011 are coming in the next two weeks, so stay tuned for the official announcement. We await the final anouncement and maybe even release of Nintendo's Wii U, probably accompanied by a new Mario game. We might hear first info about the two new Smash Bros. games that aren't even in development yet. Midas Machine might be finished.
If we all survive this year, I hope that in exactly 1 year we'll be back at this point and can remember this year, just like we'll do it now with 2011.
Happy new year MFGG! May the next year be as great as this.
