You may want to adjust the max file size (in MB) so that decent-quality images within that rough scale are the largest allowed.

Easier said than done I'm afraid. I don't have access to the core files, which is where that particular variable is stored.

MediaWiki 1.17, the version used by the MFGG Wiki, has problems with configuring the maximum upload size, at least judging from the MediaWiki documentation. Version 1.17 is now nearly six years old, and upgrading to MediaWiki 1.27 might help. I'd have to do my homework to see if that would fix the problem, and to verify that it wouldn't break anything.

I have a more modern MediaWiki which has some minor compatibility issues - deprecated functions - but appears to work. The problem is that all deprecated functions issue warnings in the output, which include source file paths and, so far as I know, can't be suppressed; you would need to edit the core files to do so anyway.

Surely MFGG has a development environment that most of the admins can access and experiment with?

Not really, no.

Also depending on your definition, "the developers" is me lol. There are lots of MFGGers who program, and some of them know web/server stuff, but I'm the only active PHP developer here with the experience to do something like that, as far as I know.

Idea: Maybe we should lower the MediaWiki limit? It's possible that the apache upload limit is less than 100mb.

I would like to point out, the image in question is only 380 KB (389,120 bytes) in size.
We have images of this filesize, and larger on the Wiki which display without any problems.

With this, I'm not so sure that reducing the file size cap would help in this situation.

Alright, it took me a bit to find an alternate means of getting to the delete command due to the broken page.
This subsequently allowed me to retrieve the image which was uploaded.

Being 2201x2365px in size was just too much for the Wiki software to handle.
Since it would attempt to load the entire thing before anything else, the page it was on, or any page it was added to, would subsequently refuse to fully load, hence the error, and white screens noted prior.
Scaling it down to 500x537px in size fixed the problem.

In light of this, I must note that large images must be scaled down to a reasonable size. no bigger than 600x600px in size.

The rules have also been updated to reflect this.

Thank you.

I wish that there was a "Like" Option.
But instead i'll just Thank you for the help, i'll just try to stick to the rules, even if it was me who broke the wiki. :'(

Now now, None of us, LITERALLY nobody, had any idea that this was a problem until you uploaded that file.
By transit of you revealing a major problem, I should be the one thanking YOU.
