Our local FTP Master has updated the dialogue used in the Account Request form to no longer ask for your real name.
Please refrain from using a different name than the one you use on the rest of MFGG, as using a different name makes Identifying you a very difficult, if not impossible, task.

Thank you for your attention.

The Wiki is fantastic and a testament to the awesomeness of this community. Feels good to be back, and actually making a fangame for the first time! :D

Please stop trashposting in staff threads, or I will begin handing out warns.

I have tended to most of the contents of the items marked for deletion. With the exception of one file which has become lodged in the database, and one I would like to verify before deleting.

If you find that anything was removed in error, please let me know so that I might undo it's removal.

I know I've said this before, but if you wanted to increase traffic for the MFGG Wiki, having a link on the MFGG main site would help immensely. You'd go from two or threee people actively contributing to dozens in a matter of days, I'm sure.

But there already is a link in the mainsite!

Unfortunately, the wiki's never really been that popular. A lot of activity is pointed towards fairly self-indulgent user pages rather than the more useful fangame pages. You have people who were only active for maybe a month back in 2009 who have pretty lengthy (not to mention biased) pages about themselves - meanwhile, a fangame that has a solid 8.9/10 average rating on the main site won't even have a page.

Something's gotta change, or else the wiki will fall further to the wayside of obscurity.

To clear up any confusion, that guy was a spambot. It stole Vinny's post from 2010. Not the first one like this we've had - if you see new members making strangely out of context or nonsense posts with a couple of random links in their signature, feel free to send a report - they're probably sig-spammers (using their actual sigs to post spam links in random spots).

Oh my god, the spambots are gaining sentience D:

i'd like to contribute to the wiki if info on certain fangames is absent, it'd help to know which games those are though

Post subject:  Re: The MFGG Wiki

Watch out for new members who make short posts and have advertising-y things in their signatures - as Miles mentioned, there's a fine chance that they're spambots.

It's a funny feeling to have a spambot channeling the voice of 2010 Vinny! In retrospect, I might've been a little over-optimistic about the positive effect of adding a wiki link to the mainsite, although doing so certainly didn't hurt wiki activity.

Post subject:  Re: The MFGG Wiki

I have recently been trying to get the Sprite Comps that were on this forum, but not listed in the wiki article,...well, listed in the wiki article, I guess (I can't really think of a better way to describe it). Though, there is a problem I had with the process. The links to the winning entries of Sprite Competition #1, #3, #4, and #8 appear to be dead. I unfortunately didn't save them to my computer before they got nuked, so I'm wondering if any of you out there happen to have at least one of the winning entries of the previously listed Sprite Competitions saved, or if you happen to be friends with one of the winners, got on contact with them and see if they still have their winning entry on their computer. If you did, then it would be really appreciated if you could upload them to the wiki, or if you can post them in here (or send to one of us contributors the winning entry) and one of us contributors can upload it to the wiki (though, I think it would be better if you did the former).

Also, how did you guys manage to know the results of the Sprite Competitions #1-3 (the ones in this era of the forums)? I looked at their topics, and I haven't found anything about the results.

That is certainly odd.
Do the posts in question appear to cut off abruptly, or to be missing chuncks of conversation?
