By request, it's time to start the next Music Competition! This round's theme: Ghost Houses.  -Create at least 30 seconds of music that would fit the theme of a ghost house. -You may create an original composition or a remix. -To keep file sizes down, please choose a file type with decent compression and ensure your entry doesn't exceed much more than five minutes in play time. Entries are due by Thursday, November 9th at 11:59PM PDT. |

I don't really make Mario remixes, or even Mario styled music, all that often, but after seeing the new competition I thought I'd give it a try. Got some inspiration from some past Mario games, as well as the Luigi's Mansion theme and songs from other random games. Pretty basic, but I feel like if I try making Mario styled music more often, stuff could turn out a lot better. I'm not entirely sure how to upload files through this site, so I just uploaded it on another one (just adding a little note here, this is my first time actually posting something on the message boards, so I'm hoping I don't mess anything up. I might need a little help on how things work around here) |

I'd love to enter, but the only software I can find (for midi files) is way to confusing for me to be able to play two notes at the same time (one note is easy, but two notes are impossible) |

Most likely the only time I'll enter a competition of any sort. For my entry, I decided to make a cover of my favorite "ghostly" Mario tune, "Ghostly Galaxy" (AKA "Waltz of the Boos") from Super Mario Galaxy. I made this in Mixcraft Pro Studio 7 using a MIDI by Forrest Riedl (I'm not a composer). Listen here Thank you for your time, and best of luck to all entries! |

Ooh, I've got a good idea for this one... Do remixes/remasters/whatever you want to call them of existing songs that aren't already haunted count? (If I was to take an upbeat song from a past Mario game and remaster it with a spooky feel and stuff, would that be eligible?) |

So I made a thing. It's basically a midiflip of Super Mario 64's Dire, Dire Docks that I spooked up a bunch. It might not exactly fit a ghost house, but maybe some kind of haunted underwater cavern or something? I don't know, it might have too much stuff going on. I tried to do some interesting stuff with panning, but I think I might've focused a bit too much on the right side. Feedback would be appreciated. |

I think it could fit, after all who says a ghost house can't have water sections especially since we have enemies like fishbones or whatever you call them? Seems pretty good to me! |

Here's my entry! It's related to ghost houses right? Since a mansion is a house of some description and it's infested by ghosts. Regardless, this one was a bit of a mess to make, with technical issues, laziness and... well, mostly laziness. I should get a new sound card so it doesn't completely destroy my electric guitar's audio and I can use that one instead. |

I really hope we can have more music competitions in the future! Ghost House types of music may not be my strongest when it comes to compositions, though I still had a lot of fun, and can't wait for more theme ideas. =) |
