Congratulations to the participants of last Music Competition. After the winner Can Of Nothing has given up on his privilege to choose the new theme, the runner-up would decide. We had two runner-ups, out of which Cap'n Coconuts came up with the following theme, which I think is fitting the season. The Theme: Sadness But, but! It's the season of CHRISTMAS! How does Sadness fit into the picture? Well, the weather is more on the sad side during this time of the year, especially this year (where I'm from at least), so sadness and depression slowly grow in us. Sometimes, it is good to counter sadness with things you like. Listen to cheery music or play a fun video game or spend time with your friends or family. But other times the only thing you can do is listen to the right sad song which will pull you to your very lowest point of your mood, because only from there you will be able to climb out. This music competition asks you to compose something sad. How sad or serious it is is up to you. A more lighthearted example would be this piece of Super Mario RPG (spoilers): Or you might be more inspired by this more recent work: -It does not need to be video game related, but it can. -Sad remixes of existing (Nintendo) music is allowed. Because this is a complicated theme for most of us, this time we'll have a slightly longer time limit than usual: Time limit: until Thursday, 11th of December 2014 NO extensions! You can submit your entry as long as it's still December 11th anywhere on the planet, even if you yourself don't live in that timezone. Sadness Same entry as before, except this time I tried isolating all the sound channels, and messed with the settings on each one individually.. |

That is a tough call actually. Did you make that? because fitting of the theme or not, that sounds really good! Edit: Looking inside the track, I can see that you did indeed make this. Dude, this sounds incredible! I don't care if the track itself fits, if you made it for this comp, I say that you should be able to enter it. Also, it sounds more like a vengeful theme, which I feel is sad by it's own right. Kind of a "Furious-Sad" type of thing. |

If it makes anyone feel any better about the difficult theme for this competition, I've had a bit of composer's block. Agreed. I kinda like the NES sound of that. Almost gives it a kind of haunted feel, I like it. Seems that we have some interesting entries this time around, as well as some first timers. (Including myself) |

I think Fireball's is the best out of the ones I can vote for, but Nite's is more in line with the theme. I will have to vote for Nite Shadow. |

Nite Shadow did it well; it does have the theme of despair in it, while fireball's is kind of upbeat. |
