Ok I lied, I'm gonna need another day or two.

Any chance of extending the deadline to Sunday? Pretty please?

Here's my Endless Dungeon Game. First thing I've coded proper. You are an adventurer in a dungeon. Defeat all the (randomly generated) enemies and head through the doorway. Do so, and it gets harder. Die, and it gets easier. A few minor glitches, some missing sounds, and I'm dissatisfied with the consistency of the sprites, but it's playable, and I'm out of time. You may need a rundown on the enemies:
Spoiler:
All sprites by me, all sounds by me. All in all I've found this to be a good introduction to GMS.

So the event runner's been gone for a while, it's a day past the deadline, and there's only two entries submitted.

What do we do now?

Add a few more days until the deadline then start the voting?

Hey hey extend it to Sunday and you'll have three!

Actually, I'd be even more for a Monday extension. That sound good?

Uh, don't we actually have three entries (or four if you count Mr. Yoshbert's entry, which seems to have more than one screen, so I'm not sure if it should count or not), which belong to DJ Coco, Friendly Dictator (now known as Brian Eno), and bigpotato? Anyway, I'm not sure if we should extend the deadline or not. I guess we could do it (Monday sounds good to me), but I think we should tell the admins about that first.

Oh, my mistake- forgot about DJ Coco's and Brian Eno's. But yeah, we should wait for the admins to decide.

And my entry does use only one screen for everything.

I'm indifferent on an extension. I could update mine, but don't really want to.

I think the consensus was that "on one screen" was supposed to mean "all fitting on the screen at one time", in which case yours does not qualify, though you could probably merge the menu into the playing field if an extension happens.

The menu is actually an overlay.

That being said, check my original post for a newer version that makes it transparent!

woah who the heck said overlays aren't allowed? Forget that noise!

Good idea with the menu, making it transparent. When an overlay covers the entire screen, you can't tell it's an overlay. Maybe do the pause screen too? Also, the new AI is hard. Last time I won all three rounds. Now I can't get his health below 40.

If you guys would like an extension, I'd be fine with it. Unless Cadet appears out of nowhere and says otherwise, the new deadline will be pushed back until Friday, September 16th.

Well, I just managed to finish my entry for this competition (it's still September 16 in a few time zones, right?). It's a follow-up of The Flooded Tower's story. It's not as complete as I'd want it to be (really, I haven't even gotten any sprites for the boss made, which is why its appearance looks like a placeholder, and there isn't any sound effects and music), but I didn't really have a lot of time to work on it. Oh well. Anyway, here's a link to it:

Battle in the Future

Please read the CONTROLS.TXT file that is included in the .zip file before playing the game. The engine was made from scratch. Also, just to let you know, the boss will start attacking in a few seconds, and the Goomba can take four hits until he is gone. Oh, and there was one thing I forgot to mention in the CONTROLS.TXT file. You can only pick up the object that is seen as a green blob with an H on it when it is stationary.

Feedback is appreciated!

Seeing as Friday, September 16, 2016 is now gone forever, I suppose voting can begin.

Post subject:  Re: Minigame Competition #2

Yeah, I think we can now start voting. Here's a link to a pack that includes all of the qualified entries for this competition:

Download All Entries at Once

There appears to be six entries (which belong to DJ Coco, Friendly Dictator/Brian Eno, bigpotato, Syaxamaphone, Mr. Yoshbert, and me), so that means we'll do top five voting. Since the usual time span of top five voting is two days, top five voting will end after Monday, September 19 ends, unless Cadet (the competition host) appears out of nowhere and says otherwise.
