This is me testing out the upgrades, as well as showing off a Luigi that no longer looks like Mario.
* Speed up (1): Increases your movement speed by 20% of your base speed. Can be bought up to 5 times, doubling speed when maxed out.
* Superballs (2): Fires a superball at 315 degrees; bounces off of walls. Can be bought a second time to get a second one fired at 45 degrees.
* Multi (3): 3-way shot with your main gun. It's the more defensive of the two gun upgrades; it offers improved coverage but you'd have to get close to inflict good damage on anything that doesn't die in one hit.
* Bulllet Bill (4): Fires exploding Bullet Bills. It's the more offensive of the two gun upgrades; it packs a wallop but doesn't improve on coverage. Both Multi and Bullet Bill are mutually exclusive; buying either upgrade removes the other.
* Option (5): Undecided on whether to use the standard or formation variant, but basically this is a glowing, floaty thing from the Gradius series that essentially doubles your firepower (or triples, if you have two). You can buy up to two options.
* Shield (6): Gives you a force field so you don't explode if you get hit. The shield can take three hits, but mercy invincibility is almost non-existent.
Your sky pop in this game is as vulnerable as the Vic Viper is, so colliding with anything other than an item will kill you unless you are shielded. Colliding with a solid surface will kill you quickly even if you are shielded.
In case anyone was wondering, this does take place in Sarasaland, and you are saving Daisy (as well as Mario, who was unfortunately captured during his cliched save-the-princess routine). Tatanga is not the main antagonist.

If it makes you feel any better, Nite Shadow's entry made me queasy for a bit.
