Well, midnight has passed, so all entries for this competition have now been locked in. But I'll open a new topic later today for the special extension. Could someone also post a download all at once pack, please?

"talk about dang ol' this ain't scientific rockets, man" Spoiler:
Ok, as voting is still open (I'm using the 2-day Final Voting) it's time for my take on the three entries.
First of all, we have liki2 and his game, Blocked.
This game is quite decent. It has interesting mechanics (although that text when the star bits were introduced should be changed in later versions) and had a good challenge curve. Add in a proper story, (like the one I suggested) a key to allow the player to reset rather than a reset button (or, if you keep the button, to make it move along with the camera) and some more levels and obstacles, and this could become a good game in its own right. Good job, liki2.
Next up, we have Namadu and his game, Star Bit Catch.
I must admit, this game is quite nice. It looks good, and has some nice upgrades. And, even though it wouldn't normally qualify for the bonus thing I am doing, which I will announce properly post-contest, this makes me want to include a new category in it for things like this. Well done.
And finally, we have Supernova and his game, Mario's Deadly Flight 2.
First of all, I had never played the original MDF, so if there is anything I say about this that is already explained in that game, (or in the topic(s) for that game) let me know. Anyway, this is a nice side-scrolling shooter. I suspect that the 'credits' in this game are like the lives in most other fangames, and I also love the black holes, the different weapons (although I normally stuck to the normal one) and the bosses. And also, this does qualify for that bonus thing I was on about.
Anyway, it's time to pick one of them to vote for. Of the three, Blocky is the one where it needs much more in order to be more fun, (and to make more sense) but is a decent game outright. But the other two are somewhat better.
So, now we are down to two games. Star Bit Catch, which is a really good minigame in its own right, and Mario's Deadly Flight 2, which has the same kind of feel as SPM's space world, but better. I would vote for both of them if I could, and thinking about it, I might end up doing that, as I'm going to vote for Namadu to win this. And, if needed, Supernova will get my tie-breaking vote if no-one else managed to do so. Although maybe Guinea could cast his vote to break the tie if he hasn't voted yet.
So, the current standings with less than 9 hours of standard Final Voting left are:

This was actually the first original game I made, so I know it's far from being perfect. I also didn't have a lot of time so that's also the reason why the game doesn't have a lot of content. I will try to update the game as soon as possible and I will try to ad a lot of new levels and features (gravity-changers, timed clouds, moving elektricity, bombs, vertical platform,...). I still have a lot of ideas so I think I can make it a lot better in the feauture. But I actually glad that you liked the basic idea.
And my name is laki2, not liki2.

Considering I had supposedly less than 9 hours left, by now I have no chance to vote. For the record, I would have voted for Supernova's; the black holes were a great touch.
But I suppose I'll just wait and see what happens next...
(And thanks for the comments/votes. Much appreciated!)

Hmm? Why would you not be able to vote if you're able to vote?

He's referring to how more than 9 hours ago, ah said there were 9 hours left to vote. He hasn't made post declaring voting over yet, but it apparently is assumed that it is.

"talk about dang ol' this ain't scientific rockets, man" Spoiler:
He could had voted as we still have a tie that needs breaking for 2nd place. And, seeing as he has stated in his post who he would had voted for, I'll be taking that as the tie-breaking vote.
FINAL STANDINGS:
1st place: Namadu with 2 Votes (Wiiboy4ever, ah2190) 2nd place: Supernova with 1 Vote (Namedu - Tie Breaking Vote) 3rd Place: laki2 with 0 Votes
And, with that, this competition comes to a close...
But then again, it's not completely over yet. Even though Namadu will be choosing the next theme for the MGC which should be starting either this week or next week at the latest.
