also
an expansion of the 24 hour idea would be nice. I'll see what I can do. Normal MGCs imo are quite boring, drag on for too long and dont really give out equally good results. we'll see what can be done :3

I find it interesting that the 24-hour theme has consistently earned more entries - and, ironically, better-quality entires - than almost any of the other MGCs of the past year (whether on New MFGG or Old MFGG, or even on that Negative Forum's MGC for that matter). I'd consider trying a weekend-long event sometime, but I like the way these have been turning out. Plus, there's been no need for multiple deadline extensions that have made these drag on endlessly in the past.

I won't take part in any more 24-hour, 48-hour or w/e competitions until the summer holidays, btw. They take up too much of the weekend.

Yeah you have a point there. Maybe a short timespan will work out better - 1 week or so. I'm not a fan of competitions that drag on for a month (and then get extended for another) :/
