Count me in, I think I'll make Mario boss battle game =).

edit: I'm still joining, but I think the rules for this minigame competition are a little too strict. For example we are forced to use fixed camera view, but you can have so much effects with the camera etc...

2 weeks should be enough. If we don't have enough entires by that time, I might give an extention til we have at least 3 entries.

Would an escape-the-room game count if it was one room (but many screens)?

1 room of the size of 1 window.
View needs to be fixed, but I'm sure with a little creativity you can work around this, e.g. by playing with the window's size, resolution, etc. and get your idea to work within the bounds of this competition. I'd see that as a nice challenge.

I think starting with competition #2, extensions should be against the rules of minigame competitions.
Here is why:
- By now it has become normal to give extension, so nobody takes deadlines seriously anymore.
- The lack of interest might also be caused by a theme that doesn't catch many people's interest, even if the few who said they enter say that it's a good theme, so by constantly extending, all that is done is blocking the minigame competition queue and the long term interest, because people won't suddenly get more interested.

The original reason for extensions was that people could technically just wait until the deadline, see if nobody submitted something and then rush in a poopy game which instantly wins because there is no competition.
This reason may affect a few early extension-less competitions, but over time, people will realize this, and everyone will start making a crappy entry, out of which only one will win. Then the next time, if people want to win they will put slightly more effort in theirs, and also notice that mabye someone else puts even more effort in theirs.

So yeah, from now on, no more extensions.

You are the one in chrage, so do what you think is right.

Just quit this, start the voting. Nobody is working on anything anymore, and if they were they would have posted something.
Announce the winners (if there are some) and send me a PM so I can distribute the badges.

This minigame comp. is now officially over!!
I'm sorry geno, but I have to end this, you were the only one showing progress here. Good luck with your minigame and I hope it wasn't wasted.

Guinea should approve of this soon.

hahaha sfjhsdf

anyway I missed this... mainly because I didn't even notice it.
Minigame competitons should be displayed on the main page, or the main site, or something.
...ultimately that's my job, oh well. good idea/bad idea/sad idea?

It'd be cool if you could hack some sort of "important announcement" box into the board software (if that doesn't exist already).

E.g. right above the Board Index link.
It'd be like a bulletin board of recent announcments, so if there's a competition going on, you can put the announcement there. Doesn't need to be anything fancy (e.g. it's just like a notepad), but it could be more fancy e.g. being able to add individual entries, which time out after some time.

You could probably include this in the main site software (either hack it in right now or wait till gSMS), and read the data also on the forums, which I think you're able to do.

Just some ideas since you mentioned it, I didn't spend a second thinking about the difficulty level of this, so never mind if it's too much work for the result.

I think that's a great idea.
Anyways, I'll try to participate in the next Competition.

So when's the next competition going to be? I seriously need to start making something before I become lazier than a jar of Jell-O on a vacation.

As soon as I come up with a good theme, since nobody won the last Slash said I should think of something.
