So you all know of the Koopalings, Bowser's sevenchildren nephews and niece elite minions, right? These kooky kids first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World and disappeared for 10 or so years before inexplicably showing up in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Since then, they've managed to wrestle themselves back into Mario relevancy by joining kart races, joining the brawl, joining the Olympics, and even hopping into an RPG or two. Larry, Ludwig, Wendy, Roy, Morton, Iggy, Lemmy, and... someone else?!
As you might have guessed, your goal for this competition is to:
Design an 8th Koopaling.
What's their personality? Do they have any signature abilities and items like Wendy's magic rings and Lemmy's circus ball? Do they have any special relationships with other Mario characters?
I encourage all of you to look at these characters in detail and use their designs as a basis for your own creation. For example, each of them are named after famous musicians and celebrities- perhaps you could take that as inspiration. Go all out with this and be as wild as you can.
No recolors. No joke entries. Bowser Jr., Boom Boom, Pom Pom, Motley Bossblob's true form, and the Mini-Bowsers from Mario Party do not count.
You have until August 27th to submit your entries; that's roughly three weeks' worth of time, plus a few extra days. Until then, have fun drawing.
