This is the first time I've entered the drawing competition myself.

This most definitely isn't a cutthroat game of "Every person for themselves", and thankfully none of the competitions are.
We want as many people to enter as possible, and most people will jump in and help if they feel they can (Often in the form of constructive criticism or advice).

This is the first time I've entered the drawing competition myself.

Yeah, this is also my first time in a drawing competition, and I was pleasantly surprised by the way people helped each other out.
I hope we can get some more entries before the competition is over.

Such is good sportsmanship.
Ones desire to win is left to their own entry, this does not stop them from complimenting the competition, and even sharing what knowledge they have to help them improve.

And look at what this has done in the case of this competition.
We have some fantastic entries, and above all, we are all actually having FUN.

I should say, the true spirit of these competitions has really shown itself in this thread.

What would you say the problem with the eyes is? I thought the same thing to when I first drew them, but then I kinda got used to it... lol
