ONE LINE!"One line? What's that? This theme sucks!"
No, my good sir/madam! This theme is
simple, quick and easy™ to do! (Unless you want to make a brilliant masterpiece, of course, but fitting that into your lunch break may be a trifle difficult)
Now, you may be asking just
how to do it, and here I shall be showing you.
The idea behind this theme is that your drawing must only consist of a single line, in other words, your drawing should have no line breaks and all be connected. 'Fill bucket' colouring is also not allowed, only one line must be used.
And for those who are visual learners:
This example shows the 'good' and 'bad' of what to do. You must adhere to the 'good' section, in case you didn't pick it up.
NB. In a nutshell:
- Only one line should be used
- Only one colour for the line should be used
- No fill colouringNot-so Frequently Asked QuestionsQ: I can't do this whole drawing in one foul swoop. Is there an easier way?
A: You do not have to do the drawing in one go, all you have to make sure is that the drawing's line connects and is not broken at any point.
Q: What if I draw my line back and forth so many times that it acts as a fill bucket?
A: You cannot do that, there must be evidence that it's actually a line - not a blob. Besides, the line can only be one colour.
Q: Is varying thickness allowed in the line?
A: Sure.
SO, onto the most fun section of this competition:
THE RULES:- You can draw anything you wish. However, be mindful of the board's rules, too.
- This can be drawn through any medium, must make sure you can only see one line that is not disjointed.
- The work must be original - traces are heavily discouraged.
- You must ignore this rule.
- Only one line colour may be used at any given time - pressure sensitive colours are not allowed. (of course there's some lee-way with hand drawn images)
- You must submit your entry in this topic before the deadline.
