Nice job! You seem to have the paper effect down really well! Maybe you could add a kind of paper-wrinkle effect to add to the papery-ness.

Can Mario be trusted to rid Parappatown of any pipe-dwelling pests? The world may never know.

What I meant was to almost make the character look like a "real" piece of paper and add crinkles/wrinkles/whatever you want to call it onto the paper. I believe they did something like this for a few of the characters in Sticker Star. Like I said though, I don't know how well it would work on the character you drew now that I look back at it. Either way its a good drawing (especially since I'm a fan of anything Paper Mario)!
