Well, there is some competitions out there on MFGG that have the deadline set other than 2 weeks, therefore it might be a good idea to post when will the deadline arrive in this topic, in case someone thinks that the deadline for this competition is set other than 2 weeks.

Anyway, here is my entry for this competition:

It's supposed to be a Cheep Cheep in the style of Yoshi's Island, in case if you are wondering.

EDIT: Made a few changes to it, mostly so it could resemble what it looked like in the SMB1 artwork more.

EDIT 2: Added an animated gif.

So, since i didn't know if we had to use the same colors as the originial sprites, i tried two things: first the sprite with the same amount of colors but chosen by me, then i did the same sprite with the same colors as the original one, so here it is:

EDIT: Translate to Japanese on Google Translate, Cheep Cheep and Toad

Sooo... We're basically using any Mario game style that has been on the SNES, such as Yoshi's Island, Super Mario Kart, Super Mario World, etc.? Sounds simple.

Making it from the original Super Mario Bros. artwork, not so simple...

I just thought that we could make any kind of artwork in an SNES Mario game style...

I was hoping that we could create any kind of Mario enemy, either being in the original SMB or not, and make it into an SNES Mario style.
Like, take this sheet for example:

Shy Guys were never in Super Mario World, nor Super Mario Maker, or any other game that shows off Super Mario World. So I was hoping we could make any kind of Mario enemy (Or character, I think) in an SNES style, since Super Mario World was on the SNES.

The whole point is to do a character from the super mario brothers cover art in any SNES Mario game style. It is not only to test your ability with style limitations, but also seeing if one is able to put a character from the cover art onto paper. Anyways, I think I might enter with maybe an SMBAS styled character, since there are not that many.

@kirbylover2048, making characters into snes sprites is something that a lot of people do and have done already, the drawing contests are cool because they have unorthodox premises that force you to work with things you might be unfamiliar or uncomfortable with which is a lot more challenging/fun.

The Koopalings are very close to their artwork... Except Iggy, both in SMB3 and SMW
