Interesting theme. Well, I got a entry already, which is a redesigned Starman from Earthbound (not really sure if it fits for a saturday morning cartoon or not, but I tried my best).

(Skip ahead if you don't feel like reading all of this) Hey, paisanos! Welcome to the third Sprite Competition of 2015! I know I said I would wait until tomorrow to release this, but with the theme I chose I couldn't resist! "That's fine. After all, like they say in Brooklyn, early to bed, early to catch the worm. Or is it the bagel?" Either way, if you've been paying attention to the hints I've been giving, you'd probably guess what the theme this time around is. The theme for this competition is... SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS "Leapin' lasagna, Blu, what'll we do here?" So then, your goal is to sprite a video game character from a Saturday morning cartoon. They don't even have to be from the games that the show references, just sprite them! You know, these shows (including but not limited to): -The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! -The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog/Sonic SatAM/Sonic Underground -The Legend of Zelda -Captain N -The Ruby Spears Mega Man cartoon "What if we've never watched a Saturday morning cartoon before? Then what do we do, ya Blu dweeb?" Well excuuuuuuse me, princess! If you'd rather not sprite someone from the Saturday morning cartoons, try and see what a character would look like if they had a Saturday morning cartoon redesign! "Sizzlin' circuits, this is a lot to take in!" tl;dr version: Either sprite a character based on their Saturday morning cartoon design, or try and come up with a design for someone that doesn't have their own SatAM counterpart. "Anything else you'd like to add in, Mama Bluigi?" In the spirit of Saturday morning cartoons, you have until June 13th AM to submit your work. Hop to it, pesky plumbers! |

You guys should watch them anyway, they're pretty good. |

"You didn't tell me you were bringing a secret weapon, Luigi!" I remember that from KidRetro's Luigi montage. Anyway the only one I've watched is SMBSS because Mario. I liked it a lot because Mario. Anyway I'm gonna join this, maybe redesign a Metroid enemy rather than something EarthBound since I already did that 2 times. Besides, Q-Nova already made a Starman and that looks like it's straight out of a terrible EarthBound Saturday morning cartoon. |
