Welcome to the second Spriting Competition of 2014!
Competition Rules

Friendly Dictator won the Minigame Competition, and got to pick a topic for this Spriting Competition.
This time, the theme doesn't tell you what to sprite, but how to sprite it. Time to wrap your heads around...

High Speed

Your job is to animate your sprites so they look like they're moving at a fast speed. This could be a running animation, spinning wheels, or something entirely different!


Some advice:
  • You need to animate your sprite, so please submit a sprite sheet and if possible create an animated GIF to demonstrate this animation.
  • Mario related entries are recommended, because you can then submit them to the main site, but not mandatory.
  • If no idea pops up immediately, give it some thought. There are many things in the Mario universe alone that move very fast or have fast moving parts.
  • Animating a sprite with motion blur or a similar effect to show speed is something many of you may never have done before. This is why we have Spriting Competitions: to give you an excuse to try your hand at things you would otherwise not do and so add another skill to your repertoire. Give it a try!

Time limit: until Saturday, 10th of May 2014
NO extensions! You can submit your entry as long as it's still May 10th anywhere on the planet, even if you yourself don't live in that timezone.

I don't think there's a limit. More is always better (as long as the quality doesn't suffer, of course).

Hmm, I don't think we'll get lots of more entries as the theme seems a bit unappealing, even though it could be put to good use.

Looks a okay theme but not the best theme, I might whip up something for this comp.
