Well it's been a few days since the last one ended and gamepixel didn't make a topic, so I figured that since I got second, I should. Also, can we please get badges handed out for the last one?

Anyway, onto the next competition.


Themed enemies!

For this competition, you are required to make a group of themed enemies that would all be able to be in the same level together or be near the same boss. Think fawful enemies from M&L3 or shroob enemies from M&L2. The enemies don't have to be based on a boss though. They can also be based on an environment. For example, you could make a series of ghost enemies, poison enemies, rock enemies, pirate enemies etc. Use your imagination!

Rules:
You must make at least 3 different enemies for the same theme. Animations are nice, but are not required.
No edits of old sprites.
The design of the enemy has to be new. For example, spriting a boo and saying that he's a ghost themed enemy would not fit for this competition.
You have until the 29th, which gives you just over a week.

Oh, I remember using this theme a while back in an earlier sprite comp, and I'm glad to see it again because theres a lot you can do with it. I'll be sure to think of something for this one.

Considering the rules say you need 3, I'd say that no, it really isn't allowed to make one. A week is more than enough time to make 3 single sprites though.

In other news, this is my first entry into any Sprite Competition on this site. Fun! :3

Introducing the... Nuclear waste baddies?... I don't even know what I did here, but they're certainly do look themed on... something. Lol.
From left to right, I'd call them... I donno... "Glooba", "Chemikoopa", and "Decaranha". Enjoy! ^_^

My theme was simple mechanical things. I can't really put it into words, but you know, wind up toys and gears and what not. As an added challenge, I added a side theme of making everything based on their SMB appearance.

Ehhhh.... making 3 same-styled characters is a bit tough for me, I can never stick to even my own style for some (strange) reason.

eh....haven't sprited in a while. Kinda shaky.

Well anyway, hope this is an acceptable entry. My theme was... girlification helpers. Instead of hinderin Mario, they actually help him in some way.
What are there names? Uh, lets go with Boola, Goombette, and Thwompina. Yeah.

Plant themed (except for the Piranha Plant family of course :P)
I turned the Goomba, Koopa, and the Spiny into plants. The Goomba was fairly easy, as it's already based on a plant (well fungus but). For the Koopa I used the "shell" of all plants: Pots (not the plant)! Finally, I went with a thorn bush/cactus combo for the Spiny.

EDIT: Anyone know how to make an animation? I have all the sprites but I don't know how to make a GIF or whatever it's called.

If you're gonna go that way, I'd almost recommend you consider using those guys in Midas Machine somewhere. I don't know why, but I feel as if there was a toy-box stage (or something) being consider for that game a while back, which is all that tips off my mind staring at these. Either way, wouldn't be a bad inclusion by my say.
