Having finally made my decision, here's the 22nd Sprite Competition. The theme of this one... [size=200][b]The Super Mario Bros. Movie[/b][/size] Given how bad that movie was, I understand if some of you are unhappy with this choice, but to the best of my knowledge this hasn't been before. The idea of the competition is too take aspects of the movie, and transfer them into the cartoon style of the actual Mario games. Make things from the movie fit into the world SMB is set in. That kind of thing. You can take pretty much anything out of the movie and alter it the way it needs to be altered--and do take some creative liberties with characters, as some will be necessary to make this work. (Ex. Giving Koopa aspects of Bowsers design, like the red, spiked hair) You may also take things from the games and alter them to be similar to the way the movie portrayed things. [s]As for the length of the competition, it begins today, August 31st and ends on September 8th. If necessary, it will probably be extended.[/s] [s]EDIT2: The deadline has been extended to September 16th.[/s] EDIT3: Deadline extended to September 24th. [size=50][s](I understand perfectly if no one enters)[/s][/size] EDIT Forgot the rules. I'm an idiot. -- As with most sprite-comps, NO EDITS. Though with this theme, this shouldn't be an issue. -- If it was already somewhat toonish, it is not to be featured here! This...basically only applies to like, one thing, but still. Other than that, you're good to go.

What's exactly the difference between the Mario of the movie and the normal Mario? I've never seen the movie.

I should try to whip something up just because this theme is so hilarious. Usually I fall short, however...

O gosh, I'm really lucky I didn't see it at all.

I really don't know. Anyways this is gonna be quite hard since the goombas in SMB: The Movie look extremely different then any other Goomba you'd ever seen.

Hey, would somebody be willing to get some example pics of characters or something? I haven't seen the movie in FOREVER and I'm in a bit of a stump to on what I should create.
