Khimera: Destroy All Monster Girls by Syaxamaphone

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a synthetic monster girl whose mission is to stop a legion of pirates stealing money from your island? If so, then Khimera: Destroy All Monster Girls may be the game for you! You play as Chelshia the chimera, the world's first manufactured monster madame, on a quest to retrieve the fortune that was stolen from your hometown. To do so, you'll have to battle countless minions of the Sea Spiders, a dastardly group of pirates who have their eyes on the prize--money. Punching and dashing will be your top two attacks to use in this platforming game, but you can also get the DNA of the bigger baddies and use their powers against them, not unlike the Mega Man games. Overall, it's a fun little throwback that feels fresh, complete with top-notch dialogue and a great soundtrack, courtesy of Doc (the soundtrack, not the dialogue). If you'd like, you can get it on Steam, where you can also get a costume with the purchase of one American dollar (or of similar exchange). Khimera is simply fantastic, and it's quite possibly one of the best indie games to come out this year on MFGG!

In the words of Syaxamaphone: You did it.

I really enjoyed this game. In fact, of all the games I've played in 2016, this was probably the one I liked most. Nice going.

Fun Fact: This is the first time that indie games have won GOTM in consecutive months.

Congrats.

It was fairly decent, but I kinda lost the motivation to keep going once I got to the pirate ship.
Not flawless, but a very good game nonetheless.

And waifus.

Cliax Codec is a combination of top-down and third-person shooter. The gameplay will blend platforming, puzzle and shmup elements together to create a unique gameplay experience. You will take control of four playable characters which rise against a team that seemingly wants to take over the world - but are their motives really that cliché, or are there deeper motives behind their actions?

Congratulations, Syaxamaphone! I haven't gotten the chance to try it out yet, but from what I have heard, it sounds very fun!

I'm pleased that Steam is eating this game up like hotcakes! If it becomes one of the biggest indie titles on the web, then I can see you going places, Syaxamaphone!

If I wasn't so busy with my own projects, then I would have giving game development a whirl.

I don't know if I'm quite at hotcakes yet, but the game is doing a lot better than I thought it would. Right now a grand total of 10,239 people have logged hours into the game. Of that, 251 people decided to even buy the DLC which was nice considering it was just a dumb costume.
