Rules have been slightly updated. You are allowed to overlook a few mistakes in the first two rounds.

I'm trying to get 20 members to join. It's not necessary, but I'll wait a few more days. We also need to write up a few more texts to correct ^^'

Also, how long will we have to fix each paragraph/sentence/thing? I've been busy lately and I might miss it.

There's no real deadline, but it would be nice if you could hand it within 2 days. However, if you really take too long without a good reason, you're probably getting disqualified.

I myself anticipate this a lot. But I'm not really all that very good at things like this, and because of that I'm not too sure to join.
Though, I hope good luck on everyone who joins. Hope they have fun, everybody.

No more applicants? C'mon, the game is not too hard! Give it a shot!
And even if you think you don't stand a chance, you might learn a thing or two!

Sign-Ups will close 8th September 0:00 GMT+1. After that I will hand out all the texts to correct via PM. There's been an update I also posted in the OP: You will not be posting your solutions here, but rather hand them in to me via PM. Until all corrections have been handed in, the topic will be locked.

And I already see someone asking "Can we revise our correction after it has been handed in?" so I'll go ahead and answer that question in advance - you can if not all people have handed their corrections in yet. Once I received a correction from everyone, I will post everyone's results (along with the original text) here and the correction phase starts (where you point out oversights / wrong corrections / redundant corrections of others). If you hand in a revision after that, it won't count anymore.

If anyone still has trouble understanding how this game works:
  • Game starts - everyone is assigned a text via PM. The topic will be locked.
  • You look for mistakes in the text and try to correct every single one. Once done, you send it back to me via PM.
  • Once I received all of the corrections, the topic will be unlocked and I will post the original texts along with everyone's corrections here.
  • The rest of the day after I do that, and the day after that are the "correction phase": Here you will be able to point out flaws other people made while correcting their texts.
  • Once the correction phase ends, the results for the round will be posted - the survivors (the ones who corrected everything in their own text correctly*) get awared 3 points. If you pointed out a flaw someone else made in their correction of their text during the correction phase you get an additional point (You can get a maximum of three of these, so try not to point out more than 3 mistakes!). If you pointed out a flaw that was actually correct you lose 2 points.
  • The topic will get locked again and new texts are handed out to the survivors.
  • The texts will get progressively harder to correct. Multiple people can also get assigned the same text.

*you are allowed to miss / wrongly correct / redundantly correct a few mistakes during the first two rounds.

Still got any questions? Ask ahead before the game begins!

Oh, so we're not guaranteed to get the same text. That makes a lot more sense!

"Everyone" doesn't sound appropriate here.

Correction phase time! Now it's your turn to look at people's corrections and check if there are any mistakes or redundant changes in them! If you point out one, you must provide a correct solution.
If you point out a flaw and were right, you will gain a point. You can win up to 3 points so try not to point out more than 3 mistakes! If your proposed correction is wrong, you will lose 2 points.

Wrong tense, should be "I have taken afternoon classes".

This grammar game is not good for me. I feel like I'm a jerk now.

While I appreciate your interest in the game now, this phase is only intended for the actual players to vote. You can't win/lose any points because you're not signed up :P

I only checked these two scripts so that others have a chance of pointing things out :whoops:
