So here we are, the nomination phase has ended and after the one week extension, we have actually managed to get a good amount of nominations.

Therefore, thank you all for nominating!
Even some main siters came here to nominate their favorite games.
It's obvious that we could impossibly get as many nominations as the previous years, so you will find some categories which do not have 5 entrants.
One category even has only a single game that everyone nominated.

Now, the moment you have all been waiting for:
"Have I been nominated?" "Did one of my games leave an impression on someone?" and also, "I wonder who my nominee is going to be up against!"

Here are your finalists for MFGG Awards 2010:

Updated the list, some nominated games were made before last year's MFGG Awards.

How to vote
1) Copy and paste this list into a PM to the MFGG Awards account.

2) Only leave the name/game you're voting for in each category.
To avoid moral conflicts, you're not allowed to vote for yourself. (Sorry TD, you can't vote in that one category at all ;) )

3) Send.

You do not have to vote for each category, however please try to vote for as many as you can.
Try to play games you don't know yet before voting.

Please submit your PMs by Saturday, Jan 29, 2011, Midnight (EST). It's not a strict deadline, so it ends when I start tallying up the votes, which is usually past midnight (aka the next day), so don't hesitate to submit late votes.

The Awards ceremony shall begin on Sunday, Jan 30, 2011, evening, when a good amount of members is online and browsing the boards. Please post ITT if you prefer the "all at once" or "one by one" approach to revealing the winners.

That said, get up from your couches, sit down in front of your monitors and vote!

PS: Questions, suggestions, problems? Bring them on before it's too late :D

I have to admit, being on the top sprite list makes me regret that Midas Machine is using the SVN since over half my work has gone unseen. Oh well, there are some good names on that list so I'll be happy even if I lose knowing that it went to someone who deserves it.

Might this be a rematch? Or are we forever destined to lock horns in the never ending field of battle we so refer to as "the popularity contest?" ;P

I laughed too hard.

(btw I never bothered posting it on this iteration of the forums, so if anyone hasn't played it here's the link to the NCFC booth with demo)

Anyway congrats to the people who got nominated, glad to see this is happening this year; hope we get some good winners recognized.

Has Super Mario Legend been scrapped for good? If so, you might want to at least submit it to the main site as a canned game, since what you've done is better than 90% of what we saw last year on MFGG.

Also, I just sent in my ballot.

Not scrapped for good, just put on hiatus. I'll probably randomly return to it at some point (I have a tendency to do that with my projects, dramatic revivals and all) but I don't know how far down the line that will be, I'm working on original game projects at the moment (which are a higher priority right now since I'm applying to colleges this fall, and they look better on a portfolio thanks to lack of unprofessional stigma/IP issues associated with fangaming).

But yeah submitting it to the mainsite is probably a good idea. I'll do it sometime.

EDIT: Sent in ballot

Not a surprise, that I didn't get nominated for anything (aside from JoAT, which still puzzles me). I hardly did anything except for submitting two old games and getting promoted to site staff. I promise to show more activity this year.

@DC: This reminds me, that I should get back to working on NUME (New Ultramario Engine) again.

Wow, I actually got nominated for something.
I assume we're not allowed to vote for ourself?
EDIT:
Oops, sorry, forgot to read the whole thing.
I was too busy staring in awe at the fact that I was nominated.
Thanks, whoever nominated me! :)

don't be butthurt - nobody likes people who go to awards, and then when they find out that they didn't get the award, up and leave, as if the only reason they were there was just to see if they won - which is very selfish, give respect to the nominations

but at any rate, you should still vote anyways

Nominations need to be for games that came out between last MFGG Awards and this MFGG Awards, so, anything made in 2010 until the nomination phase began. You probably nominated old games. I know, I didn't put that up in the first post, since I figured it was kinda self explanatory that you can only nominate 2010 games for an annual event like MFGG Awards...

Guinea, then why was New And Tasty nominated for Most Polished? It was released in 2008! Normal SMB 3 shouldn't be on the list either, because it was voted Best Game Overall... last year.

because New and Tasty is so amazing it deserves a third year run

also i think that the nominations in his categories got more than one person nominating them, while his nominations were only one, where-as the ones with New and Tasty and such had only one nomination in them without any chance of being ruled out by numbers

I'm not a machine, I make mistakes. That's why. Removing these from the list. Shouldn't affect the results too much.
