By the way why don't you have a Suggestions forum so that people don't have to use this Welcome to MFGG topic for what it wasn't meant to be used for?

While we are suggesting things, I'd like to address something that's been unnoticed for years.

The update history and notices for the site's submitted content has appeared to stop working since approx. 2009. Here's a list of when the update notices were last reported (using the site's update archive):

Last time Games got an update notice: June 3, 2009
Last time Sprites, Libs, and Tilesets got an update notice: April 30, 2008
Last time How-Tos got an update notice: February 2, 2008
Last time Sounds, Music got an update notice: June 22, 2007
Last time Miscellaneous got an update notice: November 8, 2007

I've noticed this because Disaster Man's SMA4 Modernized Koopalings had constant updates, yet the Update History bar always said "No History" for almost three years.

TBH the site resource system is outdated, our webmaster was going to make some fixes and updates to it but dissappeared.

ATM, we don't have a webmaster that's "here" .

I've noticed that too, and I'm not sure why submissions' update histories are no longer displayed. I can think of a bunch of ways the mainsite software could be updated to make life easier for moderators, content creators, and guests alike. Unfortunately, R II has moved on to bigger projects, and Char has vanished without a trace - no one's heard from him since the end of 2011. Because of that, I don't know when the TCSMS will ever be updated.

doesn't help that Char took one look at TCSMS and went "oh god"

so finding some one to take the reigns for that will take one dedicated programmer

or a complete rewrite of the system from the ground, up, which could take ages to do.

that's actually what Char was working on

and then he disappeared

plus he consistently pressed on that he'd have more motivation to finish it if he had assistance - i was even trying to learn php from him to help him, but communication became sparse and suddenly he just vanished

strange.
I wonder if something happened making him loose internet access.

I hope not, but I don't think so.
There's one rumor here on this topic (http://forums.theminusworld.net/viewtop ... har#p77095). Not too sure how true that is though.
Then here (http://forums.theminusworld.net/viewtop ... r&start=20) he came back, insulted people and then left again.
He was much nicer and stayed on here a little bit longer but then still left. Perhaps he was just trying to cut ties to online forums so he could do something else with his life?
He's still webmaster though...

I'm pretty sure that the time Char lost his cool on MW was when MW was going through a dramatic phase. According to Techokami, Char got busy with real-life stuff and left MFGG as well, although no one knows for sure.

Didn't know where to post this so I'll go ahead and ask.
Are the random 'ads' popping up part of the forum? Here is an example of what I mean:

I keep seeing ads on random words pop up.

Looks like an adware infection on your end. Grab yourself something like MalwareBytes Anti-Malware or Avast. Disable any add-ons you don't recall adding and get rid of any toolbars.

spybot search and destroy is also a good tool to have on hand when dealing with adware/spyware.

plus the tools Miles suggested,

Hello! :)

I'm new to the FORUMs.

Just first tell me are MFGG and Forums MFGG the same?

I can immediately delete this account if so because I already have one on MFGG.

Nope, They are not the same.

You need to make an account on both mainsite and forum, you can link your mainsite account via User CP.

Please make report-announcing against the rules. It's rude. If you've reported a post, the mods will get to it, you don't have to announce it. It serves no use. At all.

While we're at it there are A LOT of locked topics in the General Chat that have no explanation and seemed to be just fine, so what exactly is going on here?

One was locked upon request of the original poster, one was an attempt at an "MFGG Lounge"-type megathread that didn't get off to a promising start, and the other three were merged into a general AMA topic.

And yeah, "I reported this" posts are generally pointless.

It doesn't mean it's able to view it, it jsut goes to a login page, but if you stay in the login page, it'll say you are still wherever you were trying to get in.
liek if a bot tried to access the admin control panel, it'll make it go to a login page and on the online user list it'll say it's in the acp since it's technically on it, but can't view or do anything since it's a login page.
