Hi there,
I'm trying to make (yet another) grassland tileset. I'd like it to be somewhat unique. There's no decorations for the moment, I'd like your opinion before making some.

Thank you ~ :D

It looks fine to me, but maybe you could make the waves in the ground have no outline. :)

Exactly! It looks great to me. Now, the last thing should be darkening the brightest line running down the right corner of the pipe.

That looks really great, Simpson55! I love the colors you used. The only negative things I can add is the shading of the ground tiles. They appear to have banding (which is basically shading that is just directly based off of a shape), which doesn't really make it look natural and instead looks flat. Maybe you could try to only shade areas where you think must really need it. Also, I find it weird that the waves just get cut off in certain areas. I think adding some shades on the sides would make the waves in certain areas not look cut off anymore.

I actually don't really like this waves motif...
Here's another one. I'd like the ground to look like fabric.

Of course it's very simple but that's actually what I wanted. I'm also going to add some decorations in the ground like plants and rocks.

The squares look way too small to me. :P

What about this instead? Image

I actually tried to make the squares bigger but it looks like an eye exam :P
Same goes when I try with lozenges :
Image
Is it just me or the high contrast causes the lines to look distorted ?

Actually, it's just that they aren't perfect lozenges, they look rounded and that's why it causes such effect. :P It's impossible to make tileable lozenges with a small space of 16x16...

btw, I made some "lego" trees for the scenery, is that a good idea?

Unless if you are making toy-themed tileset. Lego trees generally don't fit very well with normal grassland theme. I would suggest something more natural, something similar to SM64 trees.

I was actually considering making a toy themed world, but I assume normal trees would still be useful.

Those trees look very boring! Why not make their stripes a wavy shape or you could make the trees round or a trapezium shape?

Maybe the dark green stripes could remain straight, but sort of be one pixel thinner in every isometric dimension than the light green stripes?

EDIT: Like thisish? Idk. Image

Looks good, but it could use some different shading. The way the light shines off of it makes it look like it's made of plastic.

That's intentional, like I said I'd like this world to look like it's made of materials like fabric and plastic.
