Thanks for the compliment, Qwerty Triple6! Anyway, I picked up the SMM SML2-skin sprite sheet again, and made some more progress on it. Here's how its looking right now:

Image

I added grinders, bumpers, and P-Switches, in case if you want to know what I have added into the sprite sheet.

The grinder could use an additional "spinning" frame, since one frame just makes it look inanimate.

grinders use in-game sprite rotation, and so do the cannons

Thanks, Qwerty Triple6! Like Kirby's Adventure said, the grinders were rotated in SMM by the game itself, and that's why I made the grinders have one frame. Though, if a lot of people want the grinder have an additional spinning frame, then I suppose I could add one. Anyway, here's an avatar I made for myself, which tries to mimick the style of the avatars in the main site:

Image

The background may or may not be replaced in this image, but what do you think about it?

The cannons actually use diagonal sprites for their icon in the palette.

That was a mistake on my part, whoops. I guess I was under the assumption that if the cannon uses diagonal sprites, then the grinders do too.

Looks nice, I think the background looks fitting. (Could be because the color palette of the Shlyoh, idk)

The avatars on the Mainsite are all mugshots. The lowest any of the avatars show is HylianDev's, and that's really just because of the angle. None of them show the entire body, except maybe Fujiko's, if that head is the entire body.

Um...I'm pretty sure he said the style of the artwork, as in the art style. If you look here;
Spoiler:

The avatars have a limited number of colors with some plastic shading, a realistic-ish background, and a colored border around the image. It doesn't mean it matches the existing avatars exactly, just created in a similar manner.

Hm, looking back at my main site avatar, it does seem like it is showing too much when compared to the other avatars. I made my ref show less of itself in the avatar, and:

Image

Well, I kinda preferred the zoomed out one, but what do you think about it?

The zoomed out one looks better largely because the character's pose was designed to be seen from such a distance. All of the staff avatars have a lot more detail than this, because a mugshot needs it if it's going to be about this size. Shlyo, when seen at this angle at this distance, looks really flat, simplistic, and undershaded.

Yeah, I totally agree with what you said over there. Though, I'm not planning on making a new pose for my main site avatar anytime soon, as I think the zoomed out one looks pretty much good enough to me (even though, it's showing off too much of it's body when compared to the other staff avatars, but I was just only trying to mimick the art style of the staff avatars, like Qwerty Triple6 said).

Sorry about that I had posted four times in a row, but...

Image

Did some very minor changes to the left arm (which is the right arm in our view) in the third frame at the jumping pose, and added a pose for when Mario hits the ceiling. Here's an animated gif that includes all of the jumping sprites:

Also, here's a digital drawing of Vitiman's ref:

Added a couple extra frames in the "hit the ceiling" animation and added a landing animation. Also, I had just started working on a switches sprite sheet, which, here's how it is looking right now:

So, comments and criticism are appreciated as always. :D

The second frame of the P-Switch looks...pointy. Maybe try cutting off the top row of pixels, otherwise this is good :D

Thanks, Qwerty Triple6! :) I made the second frame (and the first frame, since that one seems a bit point too) less pointy, added a couple more switches, and:

So, what do you think about it?
