Do you have something musical to share around, but don't feel like making a topic dedicated to it? Then this is the place to post it in! Music of any kind is accepted, be it remixes, original compositions, live covers of existing songs or even vocal work!
This won't just be a dumping ground for works, too, ideally - Hopefully this could be a sub-community within this community in which people exchange constructive advise and help each other become better musicians!

I'll start first; though I've got a lot of music I'm holding back on at the moment, I'll only be sharing a small something I made very recently, for now.

Well, go nuts! I'm looking forward to seeing what content will be showcased in this thread.

Alright, so I remade a music from MC Jimmy (the same track from Infinite Run One) in LMMS from scratch (manual input by ear):

Here's the original tone:

Trust me, tones imported from converted MIDI from NSF files (even native composed MIDI) sounds terrible in LMMS. So it's better make something scratch.

Oh and one more thing, this is my first Famitracker chiptune:

Here is the download link of the NSF file:

Those are some great stuff, Hypernova! I'm impressed at your transcribing ability - would you happen to have any music theory background? I couldn't make out much, if any, dissonance in both works, that would explain some things.

If it were up to me, I would personally have went for Dr. Mario samples for Special World 8, but it sounds great regardless, especially considering that it's the results of your first time with Famitracker.

Thanks, though I have almost no education on musics besides elementary school. (oh the irony for an Asian)

Anyways here's more:

Right now I am very busy trying to make a bunch of assets for a game before I inevitably run out of steam and never do anything for it again. Here is some music:

http://lennonhead.tumblr.com/post/96412 ... rom-kirbys

Fountain of Dreams from Kirby's Adventure. It's not Gourmet Race.

http://lennonhead.tumblr.com/post/96416 ... s-music-is

An original song. This plays when inside T&T Supermarket (a local chain in Vancouver).

I just recently remixed a song of mine that I made for Famicompo mini 10 called Super Rock 'n Roll.

Here's the original...

...and here's the remix, uploaded to Soundcloud...
https://soundcloud.com/kungfufurby/fcm1 ... -the-remix

The original was made with Schism Tracker and converted via it2nsf. The remix was made with Renoise v2.7.2.

I'm actually considering returning to remixing video game songs (My earliest musical releases were via VGMix). I've got a catchy song in my head (it isn't a Mario game, though... it's actually from Cool World for the SNES) that I'm tempted to remix one day. I've actually gotten to the point where I could actually analyze the original note data for some of these songs in the SPC files!

Well, that's quite a way to make NES music. Any reasons for not choosing Famitracker in particular, if you wouldn't mind me asking?

The song itself sounds quite nice (are those distorted organs I hear? If they are, great, I have a massive soft spot for them), too. It's got a really nice atmosphere and personality to it, though admittedly I'm not a big fan of the drum samples.

Here's some stuff I've been up to lately, myself:
Welcome to Flower Garden - While not a recent work, per se, I was hoping on getting a bit more buzz on this song. It's one of my better attempts at emulating Kondo's musical style, while doing something original (musically, anyway). There's some things here and there I would've changed in retrospect, but overall I'm more than fine with this.
Tiny-Huge Island (Huge) - I wonder what this might be?

First of all, I was originally on a G5 running Mac OS X 10.4.11 when I produced the song. The computer got retired in mid-August 2014 due to hardware failure (this was actually the second G5: the first G5 had a fatal graphical failure), and thus I ended up on an Intel Mac running Mac OS X 10.6.8 (the remix was started on the G5 and finished on the Intel Mac).

Therefore, the reason why the original was not produced on Famitracker was a platform incompatibility (Famitracker is Windows software, and I run a Mac. I actually did briefly experiment with the tracker while my G5 was suffering from a power supply failure since I had a Windows laptop. However, I don't regularly use my Windows laptop for music, which meant once the G5 was back up and running, that was that.). I stay away from Windows emulation software even though I'm on an Intel Mac because I am very aware of the dangers of that operating system (I make an exception for DOS, which is why I have DOSBox). I have actually been aware of Famitracker since mid-2007, but for the simple reason that there was no Mac version, I never really used the tracker.

IT2NSF was a command line application that I compiled through XCode so I could use the application. This was technically by the same author that also made XMSNES and the SNESMod sound driver.

I never used distorted organ samples. Instead, you're probably hearing the nylon guitar being sent through the distortion... and then played back at high pitch, maybe with some filter and/or flanger effects.

Here's a song I made today.
https://soundcloud.com/marc-andr-arsena ... /calm-song

I've been listening to it for 2 hours on loop to Koji Kondo Test it, and I'm still not tired of hearing it. So that's cool.

Does this count?

It took me twenty minutes to do the whole thing. I used the beta boss theme from Freedom Planet and the JAP boss theme from Sanic CD.
