The file is definitely now corrupted. Do you have a backup game file (gb1)? Game Maker makes one automaticaly by default.

i has the gb1 file.

See if you can open your .gb1 file. If necessary, you can rename it to .gm81.

Have you tried loading it before renaming it?

In GM 8.0, I've been able to rename .GB1 files and open them, if I recall correctly. GM 8.1 could be different, though.
