On this day ten years ago, I played my very first Mario fangame! It was Edweirdo's Super Mario Adventure, one of those "promising but frustrating" games. It was super-fun for someone who was new to fangaming, but it probably hasn't aged very gracefully. Maybe I'll stream some old fangaming stuff tomorrow. |

Does this count as a fangame? I suppose it was more of a clone, but I played this ALL THE TIME when I was in primary school. From memory it was actually unfinishable, or at least the version I remember playing was busted in some way. If not that then it was either Mario Quest or one of the FreakZone games that had Mario in it. |

After seeing a boss rush video for it, I decided to give Toad Strikes Back a shot and had a blast with it, and was one of the only things I could play on my laggy old laptop at the time. |

Edweirdo's Super Mario Adventure was my first as well. Loved the game to death, even tried to make a fan game inspired by it but it fell through quite quickly. Never was able to get past the Dastardly Duo (Hookbill + Fry Guy), so I was never able to beat the game. |

First fangame ever played? Some highschool age years old: Metroid Prime 2D demo. I was so pumped from playing Metroid Prime with my brother that when I played Metroid Prime 2D I was more than amazed, at least by the concept. First full game fangame I played through? One of Hatman's. I can't recall the name but it had a tornado ability and I loved it to death. Anyone remember the name? |

My first fangame that I've played was some flash platformer starring Luigi that I forgot it's name. Funnily enough, this is also my first exposure to Mario series and Nintendo. |

I think the first fangame I ever played was probably either a demo of Pucifer's Paper Mario game, or a Zelda fangame that was on ZFGN. It was a really good fangame; it had part of a dungeon, the graphics were from BS Zelda I think, and the engine worked well. But the first dungeon wasn't even complete. |

The first Mario fangame I ever played was a flash game where played as Mario with a shotgun and shot down enemies that were in front of you. I don't remember what it was called though. |

I believe the first fangame I've ever played was a Sonic one if I remember correctly. Sonic Ultimate Flash I believe. There was also Super Mario Flash. I fondly remember it being the first Mario fangame I ever played. |

Pretty sure it was Mario DOS. As for a fangame that was hosted on MFGG it'd be one of Hello's games. |

If not that one, then I think the first one was Super Mario 63. |
