Hey I'm back after a mental health crisis (sorry about that). I was wondering if there's any way to compress my game. There's only one level and it's 4 megabytes. Way too large considering I compressed all the sounds and there will be many levels. Is there and GML I should use to compress? Even the .rar isn't much smaller in size. Thank you. It's good to hear from you. I hope everything's going better now. In 2017, 4 megabytes isn't unreasonable for a one-level game. The file size will get bigger as you add more levels, especially if you introduce more sound effects, music, and graphics. However, it won't grow too quickly, since you can reuse a lot of these resources in later levels. As long as you're taking some basic steps to optimize your game size, I wouldn't worry too much. It's wise to consider limits on storage and bandwidth, but most of your audience has access to high-speed Internet, so these issues aren't as big a concern as they were in the past. (You don't have to leave AOL on for hours to download a 50-MB file!)
