Here are some questions I thought of:

  • Why is Mushroom Avenue the bane of my existence (next to Spiny Shells)?
  • Why no 200cc in Speed Strife?
  • What do you think made PM3DL one of the most well-known Mario fangames out there?
  • Is there anything you could have done differently about said game, or did you have some ideas that ended up being scrapped?
  • How do you usually come up with ideas for your fangames?
  • How long did it take to make Speed Strife, PM3DL and Country?

Well, we've got the interview answers back from DJ Coco, so the next interview will be up this week. The questions were very nicely answered too, with lots of details about the development and design choices behind Paper Mario 3D Land and Super Mario Country.

LangtonSoft's questions were asked as part of that.

We've also got back interest from the makers of Binding of Mario in regards to an interview, so that could be number 3. And we've also sent the questions for Judge Spear of Mushroom Kingdom Fusion fame, and are waiting for a response.

Either way, it's looking good. We're also trying to get Newer Team to agree to an interview, as well as the makers of projects like Super Mario 64 HD, Ocarina of Time 2D and various other well known ones.

Personally, I'd love to see an interview of C-Division. His games tend to be unlike anything the entire remainder of the fangaming community developes.

Interview me.

Sure, I never actually made anything, but that makes me a man of MYSTERY!
Besides, I'm too handsome not to interview. The only two questions you'd need
to ask are "Why have you never finished any projects?" and "Just how handsome
are you, anyway?"

I could give you a good 3 or 4 pages of text on that last one.

And here's a second one, with DJ Coco about Paper Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart Speed Strife and Super Mario Country. Thoughts?

Sorry, wrong one.

Both OOT2D and Paper Mario 3D Land got taken down off Mediafire, both by the same Nintendo lawyer with the same message. I'll replace it.

I kinda feel like its intro is flame-baiting Paper Mario Sticker Star.

Unless I am mistaken, complaining about Sticker Star was not the point of the interview.

Nah, j/k, don't worry about it -- I completely sympathize with the whole "wanting to move on" thing, even if a part of me yearns for what could have been. Haha.

Did I say that? :P I totally did. Super Mario Blackout WILL be made - no worries about that. I gotta be honest, I rather use the whole electricity concept in an indie game, but all the ideas I came up feel too... built around Mario by now. And you already drew that wonderful map so no worries about it going unused - I'm just currently more interested in the indie scene and learning Unity and all that jazz, but I will make Blackout one day!

Judge Spear interview is now up:

https://gamingreinvented.com/interview/ ... interview/

It's pretty damn long, but contains one hell of an awesome amount of information about the game. An interesting read I'd say.

Also, I know this is probably a strange request, but could someone make mention of these on the MFGG main page/news section? I think people on the main site might be interested...

Interview number 4, about The Binding of Mario:

https://gamingreinvented.com/interview/ ... -interview

Near Future interviewees will likely be Thunder Dragon, Captain Coconuts (Fusion Team) and levelengine (SMW reviewer/hacker). We also have an interview lined up with a Disney Infinity game designer, marking our first shift into interviews with developers on commercially released games.

We'd like to also interview the makers of indie games (it'd be cool if we could get interviews with the teams behind Shovel Knight, Shantae or Yooka-Laylee for example), famous Youtubers (someone like Markiplier or Pewdiepie or the likes would be pretty awesome here) and figures involved in things like the GamerGate movement (both for and against).

Oh hey, I'm back with another interview! This time, with WwwWario of Super Wario and Five Nights at Wario's fame!

https://gamingreinvented.com/interview/ ... -wwwwario/

My next one won't be fan game related (since I'm interviewing Source Gaming, the guys who write those interesting articles about video game localisations), but after that, I'll hopefully have another fan game interview in the form of an interview with Mario ROM hack reviewer levelengine!

I know it's probably really rude to ask (or maybe it isn't), but I'd be game for an interview if you want to do a fangame developer!
