The site can be browsed without getting any malware, something I'm not that sure about for the downloads. Dark Days' 'Super Mario The Kingdom Troubles' -> Another Hello game -_- 'The Super Mario Bros Skypop Flaying in the Sky' -> I can recall seeing this game somewhere on MFGG, I dunno who made it though. [b]'The real Super Mario Bros What is this Thing Game' -> DJ Yoshiman's What is this thing 'Super Psycho Waluigi - The troublesome mind' -> TD's Psycho Waluigi 'The Mushroom Kingdom Patrol - Super Mario Patrol' -> Team Midas' Midas Machine[/b] None of the game installers, game info or game loaders say anything about the original creator of the game. [b]EDIT: PLEASE READ[/b] As you all know by now, there are people out there who are out stealing fangames, and editing them. Some of them also added malware or a virus, so please be advised. For all of you fangame makers: be sure to include a disclaimer for your fangame. Run it through a decompiler if needed, and make sure it has your (user)name in the program's description (wich can be changed easily in Game Maker). Also, please note the sites (we're currently aware of) that host these 'fake' fangames: buziol.pl mario-city.com softendo.com Be sure to let everybody know the only place to download Mario Fangames 100% safe is at MFGG (or BibbyTeam, eh Vinny :P). Spread the word, people!

Also, when browsing through the Game setup files for Psycho Waluigi, the shortcut said 'Mario City 2010 (c) http://www.mariocity.com'. The real .exe of the game was changed into 'data_files'. Odd.

Oh hey, this is the site that made Mario Forever. They've been "hosting" Mario fangames like this for a while. I guess I never noticed that they stole these games.

Turned out it actually was Pshycho Waluigi.

They are breaching the copylefts of the game makers. Even though the persons and all that are owned by Nintendo, the FANGAME is owned by the creator of it. This is why, when I upload stuff regarding Time Twisted or any other projects, I will include a copyleft notice which aims to prevent this sort of thing. And for you guys who are confused as to what copyleft is, it is a take on copyright which is just as valid.

The guy running that site has a YT account called "softendo", It's making the same thing with other people videos. (I think...)

im going to scan one of the installers on that site, ill feed you a report when done, after seeing what it did on masons system, I dont think i like this.

So from what I can see, the guy steals our games, changes them and redistributes them with malware. Which is clearly done on purpose, so he knows he is violating our copyleft here. The problem is what can be done about this? I'm afraid if you send him an email saying that you don't want your games on his site, he'll just laugh at you. Tbh, I have no clue how to stop this.

I really don't think there's much you can do. My advice is to do what I do with all of my games - my F1 help screen (which you can't change unless you hack into the already-protected executable) includes credits and a link to MFGG and my own forum, so even if someone plagiarizes your games, at least everyone will know it was done without your consent.

This is awful. Someone has to try to shut it down.
