I use GM 8, and chances are I'll never use 7 again unless I need to update one of my GM 7 games and find that the particular game's collisions are glitchy in GM 8.

Also, this is the first non-stickied topic in Developer Discussion, for what it's worth (which is absolutely nothing).

I remember back when 6.1 was new and couldn't be played on certain computers. Back then, I used GM5.3. For a very brief period of time I used GM6.1 and 7, but jumped at GM8 and got it registered as soon as I could afford it. Registered really has been making things easier for me.

7 because it's pro, and I really dislike 8s sprite editor. Transparency is nice, but I hate going through a menu to only flip a sprite.

I mainly use 7, since I have the Pro version of it, although I use 8 and 5.3 sometimes.

I have them all, but 5.3 is what I primarily use. Sometimes I take my projects to use on old computers and 5.3 is not very demanding. (It was the first Game Maker I used in 2003-4, so the nostalgic factor plays a role too). Although I will say the new features they introduced in 6-8 are pretty nice.

actually i think i still have the installer for Game Maker like

4 or something from way back when Clickteam products were prominent on the forums and i was helping this one member with a game that was using Game Maker, and decided to look at it

I use 7 because I'm too stingy to buy another license for essentially the exact same thing.

ENIGMA, an open-source version of game maker that is totally free and has all of the full version features and everybody should use it now.
