Ah okay... interesting concept! It looks great, plays great; I'm impressed with the engine and the sprites. Hope it'll work out!

I'm not an expert but I really didn't see any criticism to offer.

The engine is fine from what I've played. The overworld theme could definitely use some work. It sounds way too choppy and too repetitive.

I forgot to mention the music... overworld theme was ok, but I really liked the underworld theme. I like the style of the music, but like kremling said, the overworld could use some fine-tuning.

For any reason, do you need to make the music sound slightly off for like, legal reasons? If you're ok copying the overworld music perfectly, then your overworld theme seems slightly off.

Not perfect, but still awesome:
-Water physics are a bit...uhm...wacky? (sorry, but I cannot find a better word)
-performing wall-jump is way to easily (I sometimes end up doing a wall-jump when I did NOT wanted it)
-I hate it that you need to position almost exactly to the center of a pipe to enter
-it would be also nice that the game remembers that I hold the run button whenever I enter a different room (not very important though)
+I really like the rest of the movements
+I freakingly love how slope-sliding Mario reacts to Note Blocks :laugh:
+that star bar was just what I thought

that's a problem I had, it's a weird laptop thing. specifically, keyboard ghosting. I think the base keys are gonna be changed to Z/X/C, but either way configurable controls are gonna be added soon
