This is actually pretty darn good! The main concept is pretty good and the mechanics are pretty solid. I also really liked the graphics, I'm glad you stopped using SMB3 style. The music is pretty decent too.
But I kind of feel like I played this game before. :think:

Damn, this is too good. A piece of modern art, it blows silly novelty games like Toad Strikes Back or Purple Coin to shame. Super Roll-Aid Martini has changed my life more times than I'm willing to count, but now that it has seen official release I can now say with utmost certainty and pride that this game is one of, if not the single greatest release on MFGG. This was kind of rather entertaining, Friendly Dictator! Though, there is just one problem that made me unable to beat the game. When I got the star, I couldn't seem to jump (I pressed nearly every single key that was in my keyboard, none of which caused any jumping), and with that combined with the fact that I need to jump over a pipe in that level, the only thing I could do is just either watch Mario rolling back and forth or close the game. Is this some kind of bug or is there just one needed key that I managed to miss? I am kind of interested in seeing what's ahead of that part.

ha i probably forgot to program keyboard controls for when you have a star (its a separate mario object because i didnt know how to use variables at the time lol)

the main buttons are the mouse buttons (left/right to change direction, middle mouse button to jump) for.... some reason. no i dont know what 11-year-old me was thinking

This is a work of high art. I find it interesting that 11-year-old FD discovered how to use image_angle before ever discovering the helpful little image_speed variable.

Like Q-Nova, I also got stuck at the star section.

(Though in all seriousness, this is better than a lot of "first games" I've played. As weird as the mechanics are, I bet you could make a fun game with this concept if you fixed some of the interesting issues that plague this game.)

I agree with what's been said in the above quote. The concept might seem similar to Super Mario Run, but I'm sure that you can be able to make the game feel a bit unique with some thought.
