D-Dazzle is back! And he and Purple Dinosaur Studios proudly present...
Image

OWH YEAH!
D-Dazzle, creator of Super Paper Bowser World, is back with an all-new fangame! Super Goomba Land is based upon a console Mario game-like style, featuring a set of levels, each with 5 power stars to collect in! Stomp, Puzzle, Jump and Fly your way around the landscape of the levels, collecting coins and powerups on the way! Use warp-pipes, destroy Bob-Ombs and race a Koopa! The adventure that'll make you play for at least a few hours! When it's finished, that is.

SCREENIES?!
OF COURSE! What is a developer showcase topic without screenies? Indeed, NOTHING! So, here we go!

Final Words
Don't forget to read the README.txt file, which explains a lot. Also includes the credits. Again, this is in no way the final product, and everything is still WIP. Especially the warping system, so don't report you saw the warping Goomba passing trough objects, I'm working on it. Everything else, please do report! Tell me what you like, don't like, hate, etc. No flaming or bashing please, thanks.

And guys, it's good to be back!

Anyways, nice to have you back! You didn't miss much, but some things include a lot of MFGGers are working on a sorta CFP project named Mario Anniversery, a few fangames being discussed (including mine, Ultra Mario Bros), and a few competitons.

just played the demo the demo and two things I have to say:
1. the tiles are seperated by about one pixel making it look odd
2. sometimes while running and pushing the z button to jump it doesn't work (goomba guy doesn't jump)
except for those things, it's quite good but I hope it will be more difficult in the final version the few times I died were just me being stupid.

First of all, thanks for trying the Demo!

1) - That's your graphics card acting up. I don't really know how to fix that, but my previous games also had this problem on certain video cards. The people who tested the game have no problems with that whatsoever. As soon as I can get a fix for this, I'll surely patch it up. Thanks for reporting, though!

2) - I don't want to look like a jerk here, but that's also your computer's (keyboard) fault. That's why I want to make mappable controls, because these cause a lot of problems on most computers. Although I prefer Z and X, Shift and Ctrl tend to work out a lot better. When the controls become mappable, this problem will most likely also go away.

And finally, of course it's getting harder! You didn't think I was just gonna 'give' those power stars away, did you?

D-DAZZLE! YOU'RE BACK! =D Spoiler:

Looking forward to trying this out later. Looking good. You just got back and you're already making awesome games again. The only problem I have is not with your game, but with Game Maker itself. Sometimes when the image is flipped(image_xscale = -1) it removes a column of pixels on the right side and duplicates the column on the left side to the left. I'll make a quick image for you. A fix for this would be...
Code:
if image_xscale < 0
    {
        image_xscale = -1
    }
else if image_xscale > 0
    {
        image_xscale = 1
    }

And here's the image.
Image
Notice the far right is missing and the far left is duplicated.

That's more a problem of X and Y values that aren't integers as long as he's already using -1 and 1 for image_xscale - your solution isn't actually fixing it since it's just reiterating the same number into the same variable. You'll just get the same result.

Rounding your X and Y values with move_snap(1,1) or using a rounding function will fix that problem right up though.

Falcon Punch is the result of the Sun heating fists. It drives the Blue Falcon. Heating causes destruction of water into the pain, where it then hurts, creating rain. Rain creates flowing water in tears, which can then be converted into other forms through more pain.

That fix worked for me. Guess that one's a better fix.

This was pretty fun, though I did have a few problems:
-Talking to people caused me to stop but not koopa the quick, which was pretty unfair
-I think koopa the quick went too fast for a first race
-Goomba stops for a split second when you land

@problem 2, you know you can run with X? It was pretty easy for me.

Really? That's weird, because I tried holding X when I first started playing but he didn't seem to go any faster.

That problem happened a few times to me too. You just need to press X first and then hold it.

Wait, you were able to get to the other missions? How? I'm actually posting this here because it might be a glitch, but I dunno. I could only get to the first mission.
